This is a great little hardware store. Well stocked friendly people and I like to buy local. I also prefer to use my American Express which they don't take. When I lamented they didn't take myAmerican Express Delta Skymiles card she said she "didn't want to pay for my flights. American Express is too expensive". I think you are looking at it wrong. Yes, they charge 1.5-2% more per transactions than the other cards. Amex users also probably have higher incomes, higher credit limits and buying power. Knowing that you don't take American Express, I had to shop for cabin maintenance supplies at Lowes this week and spent over $1000 in Idaho Falls. You wouldn't have had everything I bought, but much of it you would have. How much did this loss of business cost your profit margins, bulk buying power and overall revenue because you don't take American Express. I'm confident it's more than the extra 1-2% they charge in processing fees. You don't see the money you are losing because it's not coming in your door. Cortney Morris review - 1 star review??? Are you serious? We were standing right next to you when you returned a $20+ used extension cord insisting that the UL tag was mislabeled. It was all I could do to stand back and listen to your inexplicable reasoning for returning a used extension cord. Island Park Builders Supply is NOT a “borrow, use and return an item for full refund” when you’re either done using it, it wasn’t the right length or whatever. You should drive 90 miles to a Walmart if that’s your game. I’m an Island Park property owner for many years (although not a full time resident) and I just can’t say enough good things about how critical, helpful, friendly and unique this long time, family owned and operated business has been to our entire family. This is such a friendly and well supplied hardware store! Upon entering, I was immediately greeted with "How may I help you". I said that I needed several boards and the gentleman asked about my vehicle and he loaded the boards into my truck before I finished shopping.
