Rodeway Inn Montpelier — Hotel in Jefferson Township

This place was disgusting, not only did I find long black hair all over the shower but hair all over the floors and dirty crusty sheets. When given my keys to check in I was never informed of a check out time so assumed it would be at 12 like most hotels I've traveled at. I was harassed at 10am to get out of my room when check out was at 11am. When I informed them that my check out time was never stated to me then offered to pay for a later check out date. The manager then claimed my card was declined, I simply asked her to run it again and she refused, knowing that there was nothing wrong with my card I finally got someone else to run it and it was approved like I knew it would be. They would not let me pay for a later check out or another night entirely even though when asked if someone else was checking in my room they said no. The manager then blew me a kiss and waved bye to me being a smartass trying to get under my skin. I have never experienced such poor management or such disrespectful staff. As a traveling army soldier I get the rooms are cheap but at the same time I've never had such horrible service. Well, I got to hotel around 2am. Rang the bell, felt like eternity, after a few minutes a lady appeared. She mumbled something, I gave her my ID. She mumbled something, I signed a paper. I got a key card. Off to the room I went. Was a lovely king bed. They had soap and shampoo. Thank goodness, I forgot mine in the haste of packing. Crawled in to bed. Oh man, it was soft. Delightful. If you like a firm mattress, definitely not your spot. It was a cloud from heaven. I woke around 7a to a bit of a stinging feeling on my hand. Shook my hand, and tried to go back to sleep. I was to excited about my day. So I just got up. Went about my day. The next day my ring finger was so swollen, long with my wrist, forearm, elbow, and back of tricep. Due to my having a wedding band, the finger got bad. There was a pocket where the venom apparently was. I popped that. I milked it a bit. Went to Walmart and got hydrocortisone. Next day, i was able to get the ring off. Needless to say. These rooms sit dormant enough that there’s gonna be some buddies in that bed with ya. Make sure to get some...

It started fine. The individual behind the desk was polite and courteous. The room itself was a disaster. There was a massive crack in the wall from the ceiling to the floor. The bathroom was too small and not in the best of conditions. The shower curtain was either too short or mounted too high. Some how I made it through the night only to be awakened by what I can only describe as a Drill Sergeant screaming at my face. There was a very loud and prolonged knock at the door exactly at 9:00 am. Before I could even answer the door, someone from the cleaning crew had already opened the door and was coming into the room.

I'm on the road all the time and stay at hotels of all stars and sizes. This stay in particular was a royal disaster. Someone needs to let Econo Lodge know about this location in particular. I always stay at the Econo Lodge at Streetsboro, OH and never had a problem. As a matter of fact if I wasn't in such dire need of sleep, I would have pushed to make it to Streetsboro, OH. Just my luck that I couldn't make it that far east and had to spend the night...
