Campsites were OK, but pretty close together unless you get a group site. Don't go in harvest season - THE FLIES ARE HORRIBLE!!! We're talking literally hundreds (thousands? ) just in our campsite and they're immune to Off bug spray. You need dairy farm strength fly spray, which is something the campground should be aware of and doing something about, but since I had to trim the tree overhanging our campsites boat dock, I'm guessing that's an issue they will continue to ignore. Didn't go swimming in the pool because you have to pay extra per person, and you get a discount if 2$ per person if you have a campsite, but it's still 8 bucks per person which really isn't worth it when you have the river right beside you. Bathroom was... well it was there. It was more old rather than dirty, but there's a well used shower curtain in front of the toilet in the men's room, and a shower with no head in the steal next to it, plus the urinal and sink, but no fan or ac so it's a sweat box. I opted to use the Porta Jhon in the parking lot as it had better ventilation and my wife had similar sentiments about the ladies room. The campsites do have charcoal grills and nice fire rings, but for the price they charge I expected better facilities. Also, if like us you plan to camp on a site with a dock, there is no driving up to the site to unload - its a walk from the parking lot through other campsites down the steps and to your site - not well thought out or placed. We unloaded the boats at the main dock and paddled over to the campsite dock and then hiked back and forth for our gear. So although the campground is a bit underwhelming - the thing that makes this someplace we'll return to is Ritter Island, right across from the campgrounds. You can boat all the way around the island (about 2 miles total) and the current changes halfway through and it's beautiful over there with waterfalls and areas you can stop and play in the water which is nearly as cold as Blue Heart Springs, which for the more a adventurous boaters is a 3.5 mile paddle upstream from 1000 springs resort. My family did the 7 mile trip with two 20 minute stops (once at blue heart and once on the bank where we found a spot ) in 3.5 hours. Both fun trips that make it worth the stay, but if I was not boating or couldn't get a site with a dock I wouldn't stay there. Photos are from the back side of Ritter Island.

This is not your average hot springs. I felt like a kid again with all the activities offered at the giant indoor pool. I got to bang up my shins, trying to log roll, to a back flop while trying a back flip, fail at dunking a basketball again... it was a very good time. I'm a little sore, but then again, I should be able to accept the consequences at my age knowing well what they would be going in. It was very fun to hit a 12 foot diving board(theres also a regular one). I did not experience the private pools at this place, but there you can make the water a custom temperature. The pool was at 92° F which is not too hot to hang out for a while. There was a cold shower thingy at one end of the pool that had spread out individual streams to cool off as well. If you're looking to relax, head up the road to Miracle, this pool was designed for adventure and play. The campsite had an absolutely stunning waterfall right across the river. Well theres a few... Did I mention you're camping one row back from the river? They have docks, so bring you're fishing poles because there must have been 1000 fish jumping in the morning when I woke. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are a great way to check out the waterfall, or bring your own. They've got RV sites with power/water/sewer hook-ups, and all the people staying here were friendly and created a sense of community(typical with RV/Camper crowds, but I was just in a tent, and was offered nearly every meal, and invited to hang out!). I had a great time. Honey Bucket at the far end, and a 2 shower/1 toilet building near the front. I would almost recommend the honey bucket over the toilet in the shower facility.

I was very disappointed! The camp host was rude, dismissive and refused to allow me in the pool for only one reason I can figure out. It's open to the public, yet two people had "lifeguard shirts" on. She stated she couldn't let me in because the owners would be upset. For what? I have no idea. Maybe I should not have asked about the "For Sale" sign. Her response was, "It is if you have 8 million dollars..." my response was, I have friends that do! Rather than referring me to the number on the sign, or being cordial without sharing more information than necessary, she then informed me that her brother was securing financing to purchase it, but the problem is, justifying the winter months income! Was this enough reason to not allow me inside to help promote the business? I think not! I am on a year-long mission to find as many hot springs in the USA, test them out for health benefits to promote the best 3 for my particular ailments, aging bones and muscles, mindful benefits. According to her, the LDS owners do not allow alcohol on premises! An opportunity for weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations is missed! There's an opportunity here! I can't give a review of the pool hot springs water due to her attitude and behavior! I enjoyed the next hot springs down the road! Check for that review! Miracle Hot springs!

I would avoid this one! First, they have a "policy" that gives them the "right" to not refund prepaid bookings...but that doesn't make it right to hang up on you when you call to ask for one. As full-timers, we had Sunday to Sunday reservations and expected to spend a leisurely week in their hot springs pool and lounging beside the river. Thank God we didn't pay for a month like some of the full-timers there as apparently, they'll keep your money--even if you only stay one night, like we did.

When you arrive, you stop at the little phone booth office thing and pay them, then they give you your spot. We then drove our 40 foot fifth wheel to our "pull through" spot to find it was definitely Not suitable for a rig our size--it's long enough, but with a massive tree in the front left corner and a large branch overhanging the very narrow gravel exit road in front of the spots, there's no way to make a wide enough turn to a) get wrap your rig around the tree, and b) not lose an air conditioner on the tree branches. When making the reservation, we were very clear about our vehicles and their size and were misled about the accommodations. I called the office gal when we arrived and she admitted on the phone to never having seen the spot herself, and she came down to look. While there, she saw that we couldn't pull through, but said that was their spot for the larger campers. Even seeing that it was a physical impossibility to exit via the narrow gravel path in front of the spots, still insisted (as if she couldn't deviate from the script) when I suggested that we back out and leave through the entrance that we MUST pull through to leave. WHAT?? Also, these are not flat spots, ours dipped nearly 2 degrees back to front, which on a 40 foot rig is a sizeable difference. They also never mentioned on the phone that as guests, you have to pay extra for pool access. So if you want to go swimming all week, that adds about another $140 for a family of 4. We also chose this park because of the riverfront access only to find when we arrived that if we want to access the river in front of our rig, we must also RENT the empty campsite in front of our rig. Other guests we met there were also very disappointed to find that the entirety of the empty riverfront down to the public dock was "for rent". Nickel...and...diming.

And then I have to mention the FLIES. When there are that many, is it called a plague of flies? It's hard to even describe, but they did not make for a pleasant welcome wagon. I mean, when you open the door for a moment to squeeze in or out, somehow a dozen quickly find their way INSIDE where they accumulate, dozen after dozen. We had only been there hours and it was getting difficult to imagine Days of it.

I also work from the road and require an internet connection. I never rely on wifi at RV parks because, as everyone knows, it's very hit and miss--here, though, a big miss. That said, this park seemed to fit the bill for a work week for us because of the cell tower nearby was an ATT one--I have an app I always use ahead of bookings and it has never failed. Well, here, there's a massive hill opposite the highway from the park that blocks that tower and so come Monday morning, I found I couldn't connect to do my work. Final dealbreaker.

Not even blaming 1000 Springs for the flies or my luck with the internet. But put all of this together, we made the decision that we needed to leave as we could not endure a full week here. We tried calling the office a couple of times and left a message when nobody would answer, finding that they happened to be closed on Mondays.

What I am upset about are for those things that Are within their control that made for our poor experience--topped off when they HUNG UP on my wife as she was calmly asking for a refund--and not even a full one, we were willing to eat a couple of days for a 48 hour notice. No empathy whatsoever to be found here. And that, folks, is my 4,000...

My family have enjoyed this indoor pool for years. My kids and I enjoy it still. Great family memories. It's a long the thousand islands water falls are gorgeous. The scenery is gorgeous. It's an old historic place, so it's rustic, nothing fancy. Connected to campground, picnic areas. We've gone for just because, also birthdays. Sometimes the owners family, kids have helped run it the best they can. Sometimes they've had to hire teens, adults not related and sometimes are new, just be patient. There might be spiders because it's a campground indoor but still nature settings. Being so historic I'm sure sometimes their plumbing is as good as some of us not as young anymore ourselves. The prices are fair for all they have to go through to keep it. It's warm so like indoor pools make sure to dry off and bundle up to leave outside when the temperatures drop down. This is Idaho, nobody can control the unpredictable weather here. They try to predict it and it has a way to prove Idaho's spunky and loving natures, but here in Idaho we grew up to be tough. Suck it up, deal with it, we love God , help when we can, but don't mistake our kindness as weakness or push overs, we've been taught to stand our grounds if needed to. We go above and beyond for others til given a reason not to. This place is friendly for the most parts. I guess from reading from other comments, we all have our off not feeling so good moments. If folks seem grouchy they don't mean to be, they may have had to deal with some rowdy spoiled punks and still feeling grumpy from it. Their kids help out, often have no choice . Growing up everyone in the family helps out to keep things going. And sometimes left short handed with no shows. I've not been able to camp there, but have spent full days, or several hours there swimming with my kids. Depends when you go, sometimes groups decide to go there so it can get busy wild just as any other places do. This place is historic of what Idaho life's been , it's living, and making family great...
