This has to be one of the worst choice hotels I have stayed in. This place does not even deserve a 1 star rating. I only stayed because I was told by front desk that I can not cancel my reservation. I quote "No Refund Sir you stay or you leave". Absoulty disappointed. First I will start with staffing. Person I spoke with over the phone was very unprofessional and rude. Upon arrival I dealt with the same individual with the same attitude. Room 101 smelled like a nursing home and 103 was OK. There was only 1 pillow per bed and when i requested more I was denied. After I came back from dinner the whole hotel smelled like weed. At 4am someone knocked on my door repeatedly. I called the front desk and I was told they will take care of it. After few minutes I approached the individual who was knocking on my door and he notified me that front desk clerk told him that his friend was staying in room 103. I called the front desk again and all he said was "wrong room" and hung up. Breakfast was a joke which included coffee, cereal and white bread. Upon checkout I noticed a charge on my receipt which was never mentioned to me. It was listed as Safe Charge. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU EXTRA for a safe that is in the room without informing you. I had to tell the clerk that I didnt use the safe so why I'm being charged? At that point he made the adjustment on the charge. I will never put a foot on that...
Read moreI had 2 reservations (one under my name and the other under my wife’s name) and called weeks ahead to cancel the reservation under my name. I confirmed the confirmation number and my name over the phone. Upon arriving to the hotel, it was discovered that they canceled the wrong one (the less expensive reservation, under my wife’s name). I had never called to cancel my wife’s reservation nor did I disclose the confirmation number for said reservation.
The front desk employee had no empathy whatsoever and just repeated that the other (more expensive) reservation could not be canceled. Nor did the staff take any ownership over their mistake. Instead they cowardly hid behind “policy”.
I explained that the woman on the phone verbally told me verbatim that the reservation was canceled.
I had no choice but to stay at the hotel, since I couldn’t get any kind of refund.
But still I wish I had stayed at a different hotel. The hallways were poorly ventilated (windows had to be opened). The floor was peeling off. There was a blood stain on my sheets. The AC barely worked and it was very loud. The bathroom mirror light flickered and didn’t work. The walls had absolutely no noise insulation.
Just a terrible experience overall. I’m still upset that I couldn’t get a refund for the correct reservation. I will never stay at another EconoLodge ever. I would rate zero...
Read moreUpon entering this establishment I was accosted by the intolerable stench of cigarette smoke and one night stands. The atmosphere is toxic and dim. On the bright side the attendant at the front desk knew at least 7 English words and was very courteous! One lucky Revelation of ours was to leave the window in our room open for 5 hours which greatly relieved the stagnant oder. We then purchased several candles and let them burn throughout our stay. This created a tolerable and somewhat pleasent atmosphere for the remainder of our stay. When snuggling down into bed after a long day of adventuring, we were disturbed by the multiple obvious cigarette burned holes in the otherwise pristine sheets. Despite having an obnoxiously large TV for such low definition streaming there were a wide variety of Chanel's available. I should note the very cheery mural of the Brooklyn bridge on the wall. Though it clashes with the psychedelic sunset tulip curtains. Very cheery. The phone to the front desk that rest on the bedside table is molding... But no one ever used those phones anyhow so it's alright. The microwave makes frightening rattling sounds and doesn't warm anything quite like it should. All in all this place is deplorable and I'd rather sleep in an orangutan habitat than stay here...
