Rabid Possum in parking lot, car break in, no soap, shampoo or bath towels, apathetic staff, not family friendly, spotty wifi, clueless management!!! Stayed at this holiday inn for 3 days. We checked in on a Thursday evening, the line at the front desk took 20 minutes. When we go to the room we noticed no bath towels or soap in the bathroom. When I called the front desk they said they were out of soap & shampoo and to come down and get towels from the front desk. Which is strange, most hotels would send it to your room. When we made it down to the front desk they said they were out of bath towels and gave us a few hand towels. We ended up having to buy soap & shampoo from a gas station. Then had to chase down the cleaning lady the next morning and beg for some towels. We also met another guest who had their truck broken into overnight and their catalytic converter stripped. When they informed the front desk they said it’s not their problem and to call the police. Also while checking out in the morning we saw a rapid possum running around the parking lot. It was in the same spot going in circles for over and hour (this is the sign of a rapid animal). When I informed the staff they just laughed and said it was not their problem. This could be a significant risk for small children and other guests!!!! We also called down and asked for a late check out as my son was ill with an upset stomach to which they replied “check out is at 11, no exceptions” The wifi was also spotty and the free coffee was either out or tasted horrible. I booked this Holiday Inn thru the IHG site and I am an IHG rewards member. This didn’t make any difference to the staff or in getting better service. At one point I was told they would give me some extra points. However when I asked about it during check out they just looked at me like I was crazy. I won’t be staying at any holiday inn ever again!!!

Breach of Contract and Last-Minute Venue Change—Legal Action Pending I had a signed agreement with Holiday Inn Houston NW – Beltway 8 for an event scheduled August 22–24, 2025. Despite repeated attempts to confirm the reservation, I received no meaningful response until the night before the event—just 12 hours prior—when I was abruptly informed via text (see screenshot) that my event was being moved to a different hotel. This was not a minor adjustment—it was a complete venue change with no time to notify attendees or adjust logistics. The manager also stated in writing (see second screenshot) that she would personally pay the $1,400 fee for the new venue. That payment was not made in time, leaving me scrambling to secure access and nearly without a space altogether. The front desk failed to distribute the flyer I provided, and many guests went to the wrong location. This was a clear breach of contract and caused significant financial and reputational damage. I am now preparing to take legal action against the property for failure to honor the agreement and for the disruption it caused. I strongly advise others to avoid booking events at this location—there is no reliability, no accountability, and no respect for professional commitments.

1st impression: • Hotel looked clean inside, very nicely designed. • Get to the room and it’s the same case, it’s dressed up very well...until... • I discover a critter..a COCKROACH , as it scurries away we managed to kill it. • As soon as I decided on getting another room..I come out of the bathroom to see another one of his little buddies. • We immediately go back down to the lobby to request another room. • We get accommodated another room (as we should). • Although the second room was descent, I naturally just felt uneasy from seeing those rodents in the first room and had to check the next room just to make sure not to have the same problem. • If it wasn’t for that predicament alone probably would be a 5... *Most likely will not come back tho

Stayed at this holiday inn for 2 days. We checked in on a Thursday evening, the line at the front desk took 20 minutes. After getting checked in we had to wade thru a few puddles in front of the elevators as swimmers from the pool had left a trail of water from the pool all the way into the elevators. My elderly mother in law almost slipped on this water. When we go to the room we noticed no bath towels or soap or shampoo in the bathroom. When I called the front desk they said they were out of soap & shampoo and to come down and get towels from the front desk. Which is strange, most hotels would send it to your room.
