Terrible experience, do not stay here it isn't worth your money. Upon arrival staff was rude, unwelcoming and treated my entire family like we were criminals just simply because we were disabled and had our highly trained service dogs with us, which I disclosed that information in the notes when I booked the room a week beforehand. Room was filthy, dust and dirt all over the floors, walls and furniture. Stains on chairs and lampshades. The bathroom has a tub that is dirty, mold and dirt on floors and ceiling, the tub dripped water. Everything in the room is outdated including a microwave that overheats quickly. The dining area was filthy so my family didn't dare eat the free "hot breakfast" being afraid we'd end up with food poisoning or bacteria. We looked into the pool area it was run down and dirty as well so we didn't use it. At night it's a ghost town no one around and if you see another person who's staying there they quickly scurry into their room avoiding any and all contact with people. Everyone stared at us with sheer disgust and we were treated poorly just for the fact we're disabled and need our medical equipment with us to function and not end up in the hospital our service dogs were clearly marked and perfectly well behaved not bothering anyone just there to do their jobs. They charged the booking cost as well as a "refundable damage deposit" and before we left we made the room nicer than before putting the dirty sheets and pillows at the end of the bed and putting any trash/recycle in the bins near the door. There was no damage caused during our stay and yet they still pulled extra money for no reason. They're just looking to make a buck and don't give a rip about your safety, comfort or health.

I travel over 100 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. Check in went smoothly. My room, a king handicapped, was somewhat clean, with a comfortable bed/ pillows and newer fixtures. There were multiple stains on the ottoman as you can see in the photos. Also, the entryway light was burned out. Room access is via an interior door. WiFi speed was 15.5 megs down, 7.21 up via Ookla. Most of the normal amenities were in place, such as the microwave and small refrigerator. A big issue for me was no single serve coffee maker. While I know there is coffee in the lobby it is difficult mobility wise to get there. The hotel has two luggage carts. My digital AC/heater worked well. The television had only a basic selection of channels but a good picture. The breakfast area and lobby were very clean. Snack and drink machines are located on all floors, the drink machine only takes cash while the snack machine takes either cash or cards. There is a guest laundry, fitness center and business center available. The pool and jacuzzi are closed with no reopening date. A serviceable hotel, but for the Wingate name I expect a coffee maker and stain free furniture. Honestly, the Super 8 nearby will be my hotel of choice when working in Joliet going forward.

The hotel was very nice. The staff was almost all very helpful and friendly. There was one lady who was working the breakfast bar on Sunday who was a little bit grouchy. The rest were fantastic. The breakfast bar was nice. It was fairly standard with all the things I have come to expect: fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bread/ pastries, a waffle machine, a serving area of three "hot foods" including scrambled eggs. However there was something which I had not seen before which was a pancake maker. The hot tub was hot without being scalding. The pool was actually warm which surprised and delighted me. The workout room was large by most hotel standards. It was clean and well stocked. Additionally it was connected to the pool area so you could go relax after your workout. The business center actually had two computers which I thought was nice as most hotels only have one. I did not notice any restrictions on printing. The room was fairly standard with two queen sided beds. My one complaint was that the night stand on my side of the bed was decently far away that I needed to move it and change the lamp so that I would have a place close for my phone charger.

This is probably the dirtiest hotel I have stayed in. I will start with the entrance, the exterior wasn’t that bad, however when you enter the retched smell of musty old cigarette smoke hit you like Mike Tyson. The smell absolutely destroyed your nostrils. Upon checking in I knew the reservation was a mistake however our team had to stay at this location as it was a stay to play event. Shame on them for allowing this hotel as a vendor. The elevator was like riding Doctor Doom at Universal Studios, each visit on the elevator began with a prayer of safe arrival of the floor. Thank you to whoever put a car fabreeze clip on the return on Floor 3 air return. It made floor 3 smell like an old tavern with moldy carpet trying to cover up the stench with a country flower scent. Towels were hard to come by, so much that I asked the cleaning staff for new towels and they sent me to the front desk as she said they were out. Now the worst part of the hotel is that there are a few alcoholic squatters who have made the outdoor patio their public domain. They have their own tent and chairs that stay up all day and night while chugging beers, smoking camels and racing RC Cars. Yes, I said RC cars meaning Remote Control cars and cracking open beers on their hillbilly oasis (hotel patio). They walk around drunk bragging about their $3K RC cars while squatting at the Wingate. We used it as a teaching moment for our kids. (Stay in school and away from drugs). The poor cleaning staff worked diligently to clean the place but the whole hotel is in need of an entire remodel and no smoking rules enforced. There are plenty of better options down the road about 5 miles on I55. If you stay here, good luck you have...

Bought this hotel on priceline because it said 3 stars and had a hot tub and pool for the kids. Front desk waited till we checked in and then said pool and hot tub was closed and also that there are no longer snack machines. I requested a refund because I only purchased because online it said pool and hot tub. Front desk said I would have to take it up with priceline and when I checked priceline they said it was up to hotel policy. Needless to say, they would not give me a refund. Kids were upset and we decided to go to room anyway. We entered the room and the room was nasty and dirty. Pubic hairs on toilet, long hairs on top of toilet seat and floor, soiled office chair and other upholstered chair with stains everywhere, white stains on the wall, all furniture was dented and shabby and in disrepair. I didn't bother to check the beds because I gathered up the kids and left after 2-3 minutes of seeing the state of the room and went to the front desk and immediately turned in the keywords and told the front desk person that the room was really dirty and we were going to pass on staying in that room and she just took the cards and didn't respond at all. Left and went to another hotel for the night. This is not a 3 star hotel by any means and I have stayed at nicer and way cleaner hotels that are 1 and 2 stars . Not sure how they call it 3 stars. The lobby looks nice but that's about it. I lost $100 something dollars and will never go back. Surprised that the front desk person did not offer to give us another room at least but as they say "silence is complicity". What a waste of time and money!!!! It won't let me upload photos but photos can be seen on...
