Cute, old school motel! The front outside was 'charming' and I was a little excited to stay here. I'd read the reviews and read about the homemade Amish cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I was sold. It was also the only thing in the area, so no other choices, really. There is pretty much nothing around here. Be advised, there's a Subway and I saw one Mexican restaurant.
Our room was on the second floor around the back side of the place. Not as quaint and cute back there at all. They really need to keep the trash by the back door empty and ideally away from the door. It stunk, bad. I actually held my breath when going in and out of the door!
The room was ok. Not modern, but, welp, it's Amish country. I kind of got a kick out of the bible quote above the beds. The quilt on the beds was very nice! Just the right weight!
Breakfast consisted of cereal, I think packets of oatmeal, granola bars, bread and bagels, and of course the famous cinnamon rolls! They were good! No waffle maker for those waffle...
Read moreStay was good enough for what I was there for, but unfortunately we left my youngest daughter doll in the room. After traveling home [over 9 hours away), we realized this fact. My aunt, who lives in close by, went to this establishment to get the doll for my daughter. She was asked if it was a certain kind of doll then was told yes it was found but they would not give it back as their daughter was already very attached to the doll & it would break her heart to have it taken away. Boo! My daughter has been broken hearted since she realized she left in the motel room. Funny thing is the people told my aunt it was an American Girl Doll, but I hate to say it's not. This is not merely a post over losing a $40 doll, it is more the fact that they would not return simething left there on accident. We will not be staying here again as the staff obvious can't be trusted to give stuff that may be left in room back to its rightful owner. Sorry, Dutch Country Inn, I gave...
Read moreThis is a very outdated place, and needs a lot of TLC. The door to our room stuck terribly, the chairs in the room had super dirty looking upholstery, the small refrigerator in the room worked but the door of the small freezer inside would not close, the bathroom fan was so loud that we would turn it on AFTER we left the bathroom and closed the door. Those are the negatives, now for the positives. The beds were comfortable, the pillows and towels were plentiful, and the location was central to all that we needed to be close to. We had supper at Los Amigos, just down the road, and we got breakfast from J W's, a grocery store literally right next door that has a deli that makes full breakfasts to order and take out. We were in the area for a wedding, and we were close to the church and the reception venue. Would we stay here again? Probably not, unless we heard they had...
