I Have always enjoyed this hotel, great front desk staff, and modern, comfortable rooms. This stay had 2 very negative incidents which have severely undermined my confidence in this hotel. while eating breakfast I watched the attendant take the garbage out then without washing her hands she refilled the cereal dispenser, she then rearranged the uncooked bagels in the display with her unwashed hands, should have washed hands but also should have worn gloves. I reported to the front desk and was told they would "let someone know", a better response would have been to discard the affected food which was not done. Few hotels takes food handling seriously despite the number of elderly people, and children who are at risk for food related illnesses. About 8:30am the door to my room was opened by the housekeeper preceded only by a very faint knock, then not even 2 seconds to wait for a reply. Extremely poor effort to ensure a room is empty before violating a guest's privacy. If my wife or I had been undressed this would have been much more serious. I acknowledge my mistake not engaging the door latch but even that allows the door to open 2 inches, enough to violate my privacy. Housekeeping staff should be trained better, and should be much more cautious when entering a guests room.
Despite the quality of the building and rooms, I will hesitate, and explore other options before...
Read moreThis is a very nice hotel with comfortable/clean rooms and friendly front desk staff, however, there were a few issues I had during my stay.
First, the noise from nearby rooms and the hallway is louder than most hotels I've stayed in. Not so loud that I couldn't sleep, but enough to be annoying when trying to relax.
Second, I had two instances of the cleaning staff being sub-par. When I first checked into the hotel, the sink was stopped and half full of water (I assume to clean with). Easy fix... open the stopper. Then, on the second day when I returned to my room from a full day of work, the toilet lid was up and it appeared the cleaning staff had used the toilet and did not flush. Easy fix... flush the toilet. Even though both are easy fixes, both issues are still annoying and should not happen in a hotel like this.
The third item is more of a preference than a real issue. My stay was for three days. All three days the breakfast selection was exactly the same. I have stayed in Holiday Inns where they alternate breakfast selections to add variety such as offering bacon instead of turkey sausage. This is an extremely nice service when staying multiple days. Even though I didn't use it, I did like the fact that they also had a soda fountain in addition to the juice machine.
Overall this is a nice hotel and I would probably stay here again if I...
Read moreGreat visit as usual! Convenient location as it's just off the highway but far enough so you don't hear traffic. Manager reception weeknight is a nice touch. We have only used it once but enjoy knowing it's there after a long day on the road. Breakfast is the usual HI Express buffet. When our child was younger we would stay across the street at the Holiday Inn just for the water slide but now we prefer the Holiday Inn Express as it has been updated, rooms have a fridge & microwave, includes a complementary breakfast and we still have access to the pool and hot tub.
Staff was wonderful but missed a few details! We were not recognized as Premier Priority Club Members even though we booked on points. Wasn't a biggie but a bottle of water is always nice in the morning while getting ready for our day and something we have grown to expect. Just so happens this was a trip we didn't have any with us and the coke machine jammed on me when I tried to purchase one. They did give me my money back but I still had nothing to drink unless I got a small cup from the buffet. We also booked on points but was charged for the room so it took a phone call to Priority Club to get the points put back into our account. They offered to credit the card but our rate was so reasonable I wanted to...
