We enjoyed our Thursday night stay here. The lobby is very comfy and modern. We played Chess and Scrabble on impulse. There is a large classy table for groups and smaller groupings of sofas and chairs for a few people to hang out together. I loved the small, wheeled stools/ottomans that can be added seating to any area.
The hallways are a bit odd. The ceilings are less than 7' high. A lot of rooms have a large window overlooking the hallway, however, they do have curtains and shades. It is easy to become turned around. Not every intersection has a sign to point the way and the rooms are not numbered in the usual hotel way.
Our room was very clean. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap were nice Dove products. The hot water was never ending;) I enjoyed the shower-space-increasing curved shower curtain bar with the fancy cloth shower curtains. There was a hairdryer.
The pillows and linens on the beds were nice. I would suggest to the cleaning staff to fold the flat sheet over the comforter a little. 3 out of 4 of us didn't realize there was a flat sheet available. The mattresses were comfortable but might need replacing soon as they were a bit worn.
Our room had a desk with chair, comfy chair, microwave, little refridgerator, a bench, and coat hooks (nice touch!). I LOVED that they provide an extra plastic bag for your convenience. We are always looking for one for dirty clothes, wet swim suits, or trash.
The pool is not really a "swimming" pool. There are two large water slides which dump into a 3 to 4 foot pool. You have to be 48" to ride the yellow slide and 42" to ride the green slide which is quite a bit slower. The signs say to exit the pool immediately after you reach the bottom of the slide. Our lifeguard was letting people hang out a safe distance from the slides. I'm not sure this is always the case. For 20 minutes out of every hour, the slides are closed and the small pool at their end is open for playing. There were a bunch of balls for everyone to use. There is a separate area for children under 42" to play. The water here is wading depth and there is a little slide. While we were there the hours were 830a to 10p.
Breakfast is bagged. Today ours included a Jimmy Dean sausage and egg breakfast sandwich (needs to be microwaved for 45 sec), a small yogurt, a fruit cup, a small muffin, and a bottle of water. Plenty of food but we were surprised breakfast was not a warm affair.
There is a restraunt attached to the hotel and guest receive a coupon for 10% off. However, it closed at 9p. We tried a few places close by, however, on a Thursday night, many had closed already.
We took the city scooters to Fyre in another hotel.
The staff was very welcoming...
Read moreHotel is clean and inviting, and staff was friendly and sociable. Breakfast was served in a disposable grocery bag and consisted of a microwaveable sandwich, fruit cup, yogurt and a bottle of water. Honestly, disappointment doesn’t even seem like the right word for breakfast. Surely options, or at least juice could have been just as easy. Covid has been over awhile now, so this seemed very unreasonable given the price. Bed was very firm and stiff, not comfortable at all and because of that nobody in our party slept well. This was not expected as IHG hotels usually have very comfortable plush beds/bedding. Then there was the morning, some sleet had come in overnight (Nebraska) and while many guests were leaving, the parking lot had NOT been de-iced. I actually fell and cut open my knee in the parking lot. The whole parking lot was a skating rink and should have been treated much earlier, as this was not done until almost noon. The delay to have it done caused many people to almost wreck trying to leave during checkout as you have to go through a gas station parking lot to exit as well. The pool was nice, but I was overall disappointed with the comfort level of the room (uncomfortable beds and others hairs still on towels and inside bathroom sink/tub/on counter) lack of hot breakfast or any options whatsoever, and lack of proper safety measures being taken to address the parking lot after inclement weather. I guess I’ve come to expect better when I...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and welcoming, one downfall is it's a twisting maze and its hard to find things like the lobby and pool. The rooms are nice, being a family of five I was hoping it would have at least been set up for four but was set up for just two people. The breakfast was average, biscuits and gravy, omelets, cereal. The reason for only being three stars is the pool. The kids pool is nice, only being a few inches deep with a great water feature. It is not heated. The 3/4 foot pool where the slides are located is much too small for the purpose of both swimming and sliding. Someone is going to get hurt or worse. This one isn't heated either. Water VERY cold. They allow five year olds to be in the hot tub which is much too young, and their chlorine/ph levels are very very off. No one should be leaving the pool with bloodshot eyes after not even getting in the water. The staff that they have in there don't pay attention to the guests and do not enforce the rules. What is the point in having "pool staff" if they aren't going to enforce the rules that were supposed to be in place to protect the guests. One of them yelled at my son for being in the shallow pool when he met and did NOT exceed the height limit of 48"... But then allowed TEENAGE GIRLS who DID exceed said height limits to be in the shallow pool and all over the water feature. Extremely disappointed with this matter. They aren't lifeguard certified either so what is...
