I booked three nights at this inn because of the reviews. Have to say it did not disappoint. The location is beautiful and absolutely stunning. Everything that is "a must" is within walking distance! Piggys, Terra Cottage Cafe, Shenanigans and Nicks. (Also Hog Heaven in summer). Louies Prime Steakhouse and Boulder View Tavern are all 5 minute drives or less! Wawa is perhaps 15 minutes down the road and Jim Thorpe, Hickory Run park and Snake/Reptile Farm are 30 min drives. The staff are not on property 24/7 but are responsive and very, very accommodating. My first night didn't start out good at all, my neighbors next to me were very loud, rude, and blasting music from the time I checked in at 8pm until around 3 in the morning. I was awoken due to the noise, and immediately contacted the service number to switch rooms for the rest of the stay. I received a text within 5 minutes giving me permission to switch. I definitely enjoyed the second room I was moved to, room #1. (Only one neighbor!) Double beds, better blinds than what were in my original room #4, and it smelled better. Heating controls worked perfectly throughout my stay. Barn doors have replaced traditional doors for the bathrooms which look very modern. Shower heads and toilet roll holders can use an update. The addition of microwaves and a safe in each room could make it just a tad better (maybe some cabinets for clothing and toiletries too as the sink sits out in the open along the rear side wall by the bed.) A little bit of dust on the barn door for the bathroom should not have been overlooked while cleaning but overall a very well kept room. There are tables and chairs set up outside of each room, so if you would like to sit down and eat leftovers, you would have to do so outside. (Not very fun in December) or on your bed, also not fun. However the rooms are just big enough to fit one or two beds, an end table, mirror table, 1 chair, and tv stand. Coffee pot should be put on mirror table. Making coffee next to where I brush my teeth and wash my hands after using restroom does not sound appealing. The "ice cooler" which is provided in every room does not really make sense to me. Not everyone drinks alchohol that needs to be chilled in a cooler. I would have appreciated SO much more if complimentary water bottles were provided, that or a food and drink vending machine. I had to stop up and get some water at a market before I drove back to my room. Overall I think this is a killer getaway if you are a solo traveler for the price and absolutely will...
Read moreAs far as I'm concerned, the Lake Harmony is the Belle of the Ball. For places to stay at Lake Harmony, you have either Air BnB, the resort at the other side of the lake, or Lake Harmony Inn. Lake Harmony Inn is far superior to all other options. The Resort at the other side of the lake is run down and the water over there is overgrown with lilly pads. Air BnB is expensive and there is no guarantee that you will have Lake rights for your stay (this was the case of a couple we bumped into). ||||Ont he other hand, Lake Harmony Inn is located right on a super clean and clear section of the lake and lake usage is included. There are steps going down from the inn to a grassy knoll that overlooks the lake. My wife and I brought our inflatable Kayak and were able to walk it right down from our room and put in on the property. There are 2 good restaurants that border the property so you can literally walk to all your meals. The room was super clean. Everything is handled via text or cell regarding supplies, check in and check out. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room came with a mini fridge/freezer and Satelite TV. There is a microwave and Keurig in the office that is available for use too.||||It's a 10 minute drive to Hickory Run where there are plenty of hiking trails, if you get bored with the lake. The town of Blakeslee is 15 minutes away if you run low on anything. Lake Harmony Inn has everything you could want from a vacation stay and compared with the other options, it's the Belle of the Ball. Quite...
Read moreWe initially booked our 3 night stay at Lake Harmony Inn because it was the best price that we could find in the area. Our expectation was that the room would be a little dated but reading the other reviews we were sure that it would be fine because unlike some other places no one had complained about the bed itself. Imagine our surprise when we walked into the room and it had clearly been recently redone with a rustic but modern décor. The handmade quilt lent the room a warm and homey type of charm that we greatly appreciated. The amenities themselves were also up to date, featuring a modest flat screen television, small mini fridge, communal outdoor fire pit, and lovely view of the lake. In easy walking distance (no more than 2 minutes) are 3 lovely restaurants that we very much enjoyed during out stay. Piggy's, Nick's, and Terra Cottage all have their own distinct charm and delicious food. Our only issue with the room was that we initially had problems with our electronics being unable to stay connected to the Wi-Fi. We assumed that we were just not in a place with a good connection (who goes to the Poconos for the Wi-Fi anyway?) but we discovered that the TP Link router in our room had been somehow disconnected and once we reconnected and reset it, our internet was fast enough to stream 1080p video in the room. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot and would...
