Let me start by saying I have been coming here for 4 years going on 5 now and this trip was by far the worse one yet which was really disappointing. The owner was very rude and very unprofessional towards us as soon as we checked in. My fiance moved out vehicle closer to our cabin but didn't destroy anything and he unloaded it and as he was unloading the owner came up and started the trip off on the wrong foot by calling us F***ing ignorant for moving out truck closer to unload and not having it parked where the parking lot parking was for our cabin. That's no way to speak to a paying customer especially a customer who just dropped a lot of cash at your business and someone who comes there multiple times a year. I love Ms. Kim and Mr.Ron who allowed my son's to help with the watering of plants. We also had an issue with my son but the maintenance guy who I can't remember his name handled in a very professional manner. He knows how to handle issues and he was amazing on his approach towards us and my son. He knows us well and hes always so kind. The pool was packed this time and the kids had fun but it could of used vacuuming more than what it got I feel along with a good scrub on the floors and walls. I loved my cabin and I picked it out because of the location to the bathroom in the middle of the night however half of our trip the front bathroom didn't work but that was fine since we mostly used the back one. I feel like the owner owes us a huge apology before we come back next year or anymore than year. My children enjoyed sawmill City on Friday night but I also believe in my heart wrist bands for the activities should be an all day thing and not just from 5pm-8pm for $20. When you go to a fair or a carnival the wrist band is all day for the whole fair or carnival and I was told both sawmill City and the campground is owned by the same person. I do love all the free things to do however I feel most of the activities and things are expensive and not very family budget friendly. If I come back again it definitely won't be for another long extended stay. I was told nobody in cabins can have tents and when I seen some and asked about them then pointed them out I was told they would handle it but the tents never came down either. The staff when we asked about getting a thicker mattress said that wasn't possible but the mattresses we had in our cabin were super thin and hard to sleep on. The thin mattresses need to be removed and stocked with some thicker ones in my opinion. I ended up leaving my bigger bed for a bunk bed because their mattresses were thicker and more comfortable than the full size mattress that was on the bed my fiance slept on the whole trip. We spent 9 days there this trip and every day we woke up and asked each other if we should go home but we already paid and didn't want to lose out on everything we paid for already so we stayed. The bigger cabins and the nicer cottages and lounges that we were going to try to up grade to were sold out during the weekends already but available only for the week so that would make us move 3 times and with a family of 4 that's a lot of loading and unloading for a short time so I wish the reservation portion was different too. The cabin crew were all pretty cool and for the most part so is the maintenance men and woman but when we asked to have our swing moved over a little bit one of the maintenance guys got a little attitude but he did the job before we got checked in and we appreciate him too. He's a younger guy and pretty cool but again I can't remember his name.

This was our very first time camping and we rented a deluxe cabin with bathroom/shower/kitchenette.

Checking in was good. Holiday weekend being busy, but all staff were super friendly and helpful.

The cabin: Came with 6 shower towels, 4 wash clothes, 2 hand towels and a non-gripping shower mat in addition to some hygiene products. Shower had two small ledges in the shower for product. Had good water pressure and a solid water heater! Counter space was limited, so we used a simple caddy from Dollar(-ish) Tree. This was VERY helpful! All the blinds in the cabin that we were in were 2ā€ too small of the width of the window, every single window. The queen bed in the back bedroom was essentially an air mattress that was lifted. It was wildly uncomfortable and by far the biggest pit of the trip. The cheapest mattress at Gardner White would have been more supportive. The bunk beds do not come with a fitted sheet. They only come with a flat sheet and a blanket. Kids were hot there, so I hooked a clamp stroller fan onto the top bunk rail and aimed the sams club rotating fan on top of a cooler for the bottom bunk. Cabin rules specify that ac units to not be set below 72° and truth is that it had a tough time keeping up with it at 72°. Ac units were dusty and noisy. The futon seemed comfortable to sit on, but we didn’t use it as a sleeping surface. Kitchenette came with some of the essentials, but we used plastic cutlery and paper plates. I would recommend bringing trash bags for your stay. Had a microwave, apartment sized fridge/freezer and Keurig. I bought a mop at the Dollar-ish Tree and changed the water 6 times and it was still dirty. Bring dedicated cabin shoes or your socks and or feet will get really dirty. Outside the cabin was a small propane grill, picnic table and fire pit. It was really convenient to text to order firewood. Several times a day, staff collects trash at the curb. Keypad entry to the cabin was really nice. We used the hooks on the porch ceiling to hang dry things on the Ikea octopus hanger.

Campsite area was a good vibe for a holiday weekend! Yeah, things were busy, but the atmosphere was chill and everyone seemed to just be friendly.

Sawmill City: This was fun and be sure to buy tickets in cash at the vending machine for a discount. We did putt-putt, go karts and bumper boats. Girl, when I tell you bumper boats are a bathing suit activity, I mean that with my whole heart. I severely underestimated how wet I was going to get. The water felt like mace to the face, so be ready for it- it will burn. Otherwise, It was a blast!

Pool: We only went to the pool in the middle since we have smaller kids and that pool was more suited for them. I brought a camping chair with me since there’s not many loungers and an umbrella since shade was limited. Busy holiday weekend, but vibes were chill and everyone had a blast. Area felt clean.

Staff: they were all rockstars! Professional, friendly and easy to spot. May they all get extra acknowledgment for working a really hot holiday weekend!

Overall, I was really happy with the stay. My only star deduction was because the bed was less supportive than a boomer parent, the floors were really dirty and the ac units need to be replaced from...

I have been camping here since I was young. Like 10 years old, young. I am now 33. We have an RV now and children of our own, when we started with my parents we rented cabins. We have been coming every year for my birthday in October. We have usually a great time! It’s clean, it’s conveniently located and it was reasonable. This park has now seem to have gotten out of control as far as pricing, golf carts, extras etc. We were never Emmett Koa people, but we are frequent visitors now, just comparing the two. The golf cart situation at Port Koa is out of control. We all have toddlers and we couldn’t even let them ride their balance bikes in the road in front of our site without being afraid they were going to get ran over by a 10-16 year old on a golf blasting horrific rap music. And this continues all day long until 11 pm. When quiet time is enforced. You cannot take a bike ride/ walk around the park as a family with your dogs because of the golf cart traffic. The car 5mph is strictly enforced but I will tell you the golf carts that were speeding by our sites were going way over 5 mph. It was a very unenjoyable experience this weekend.

Then we went in to have our prices adjusted from last year as my sisters was adjusted when she checked in on Thursday. Because they upped cost $3 a night. The ā€œsupervisorā€ who was maybe all of 18 years old came out with her hands in her hoodie pocket, shrugged her shoulders and said ā€œthat ā€œsupervisorā€ who adjusted your rate was fired.ā€ Fired! Over $9? Lmao that’s insane. And then proceeded to tell us ā€œwe don’t adjust pricingā€. When a deposit is booked the previous year and paid, I don’t think we should have to pay the ā€œnewā€ year cost. You should be locked in. So then I offered to pay my site in full for next year and the ā€œsupervisorā€ told me it will still tell us next year we will owe more money. How? How are you not honoring our prices we booked in advance for? You already tacked on a $10 fee for Thursday night when it has been free for the other 15 years we’ve been coming. So you’re telling me if you upped cost $20 for example, we are responsible for paying the $40 extra the next year, although we’re booked and paid in full? That makes no sense. This campground is already one of the expensive ones around and then you’re gonna still go after for the difference. We paid $89 a night for a grass spot. Insane. And next year you’re saying it could be more?

OH! And they charge $10 a visitor for the day, when you’re allowed 8 people per site per the website when booking. Explain that?

It really turned us off for next year booking in which we didn’t rebook. It’s all money money money here. I was very disappointed with the service and the way the situation was handled. And sad to see a tradition I had as a kid, end, because they wanna be greedy. We noticed many open spots this weekend and talked to others who camped on previous weekends, who said the same. Somethings gotta change. I understand inflation,...
