Budget Host-Village Inn — Hotel in Kirksville

I called 4 other hotels which were all booked before I reached Budget Host which had several open rooms. That should have been my first clue that things were not kosher. ||Upon arriving, we noticed the clientele and the structure seemed sketchy. There was loud music blaring, patrons smoking right outside the doors, hot, stuffy, odorous room which was extremely dated. The room was "decorated" with dark 1970's paneling, but considering the shortage of rooms in town, we decided we could endure one night. That is until I pulled the bedspread back and found to be what appeared to be blood on the spread. That was it! I could not, would not stay, especially with my children. ||The young lady at the desk was very apologetic and did refund our money. We were lucky enough to find one room across town for the night with slightly better accommodations.||Lesson learned: When it comes to motels, you really can judge a book by its cover....

This is a motel straight out of the 80's. Don't stay here and don't review unless you understand the difference between that and a corporate chain hotel. As a motel, it's marvelous. Little bit of water damage on the bathroom ceiling but it's not crumbling so it doesn't bother me. Clean carpets, clean counters, clean drapes and freshly made beds. TV, mini fridge and microwave included in the room. We got a smoking room and staff still managed to keep it ash free and tidy. The door opens by keycard with a chain lock and a 2" deadbolt. The door also leads straight out to parking so you don't have to cart belongings around, although 2nd floor is up a flight of stairs. Wonderful water pressure, clean shower curtain and clean shower floor (that's a huge one for me). No noise from adjoining rooms. The parking lot leads right out to the main road. If you don't need to be pampered while traveling it's ideal...

Well if you are into hookers, meth heads, bugs and management that crabs you wife or girlfriends ass then this is the place for you bye far the worst place I have ever stayed if I could give it a zero I would and I can't believe these travel sites affiliate themselves with places like this, and I know everyone has their own opinion but trust me and do yourself a favor spend the extra few dollars and stay somewhere else !!! If bye posting this I have violated my rights then go ahead and seek council Mr David I am only speaking he truth and as for kirksville PD I am sure they know your place as a matter of fact they were called there to remove a man who you knew had harassed female guests in the past and you allowed him to stay there, then not even an hour and not cleaning the room you had rented it to someone else, I am simply trying to inform people of the type of business you run !!
