I never leave poor reviews unless they are warranted. Well, we visited for a wedding and our family vacation. I did not know at the time I booked on Booking.com that this is an timeshare property. Well, ff to the day before we are set to arrive, I get a call from a lady to advise me that they are at full capacity and that she wanted to make me aware that we may have to move rooms during our stay. Well, it's the night before we are set to leave, we cannot change dates due to scheduled PTO, school starting, and also we were there for a WEDDING. So I tried to stay positive and said sure because I had no choice, everyone was sold out. We arrived, the office closes at 5, I had to call security to come check us out. Then during check in, he advised there is a $100 deposit to be held until we leave. Well, they had already charged nearly $300 before we arrived but okay. They advise that we will be moved on the second day, so the room should be ready early because they will need to get ours cleaned asap for the other guests to arrive. Okay, I called at 9 am the next day to find out when we can get the new key to move and the guy says they'll get it asap and we can wait for them to call us to ask us to come get the keys. No one called. Around 12:30 a room attendant walked into the room while I was standing at the kitchen counter, she thought we were gone for some reason. She then called the office again and advised them that ours was her last room to clean and within 30 minutes we had a call and started moving. Now this was our first full day on vacation. The kids were chomping at the bit to go see the ocean and a whole laundry list of other plans we had for that morning and yet, we had to sit and wait for the establishment to allow us to move. At least 5 hours wasted and we had to move from a top apartment to another top apartment, hauled all our belongings down and up again. When I went to get the keys I asked the man in theoffice if this is something they would give a discount for since it ruined our day. He said no sorry and that was it. With the amount we were charged, the only thing that would have helped our situation would have been some returned money. Also, we had one towel and one wash cloth for each person for the 4 nights we were to stay. When I requested more, I was told we have to take the ones we have to the laundry and wash them. It was nearly 100° while we were there so needless to say we took showers every single day. Can you imagine? Luckily I brought quite a few beach towels so we were only slightly inconvenienced by that but if you plan to stay here be prepared. The entire place is in desperate need of renovations. It seems clean so I'm okay with that if it's affordable but unfortunately we were charged a premium price for a standard facility. Most likely would not stay here again. Terrible...
Read moreThis may not seem like a five-star place, but it was to us. The rooms were spacious, although we had hoped for two separate bedrooms --we booked through bookings.com, which somewhat misleadingly said two beds and it was actually a bed that you pulled down in the living room. But my teenage daughter liked it anyway but would have preferred more privacy. But other than that it was well equipped, clean, comfortable. One minor quibble was that they have those old fashioned blinds that go from the ceiling to the floor instead of actual curtains, but I understand they are replacing those across the different units eventually.
They have a great indoor pool area and jacuzzi and clean bathroom facilities and game room and library and outside pool and so many things. They have a great location. The resort is gated.
The people who staff it are amazing. They were so helpful. We had an emergency happen during our stay and one staff member,Tyler, stayed with me the entire time, and coordinated with all the other staff to help me. They were sympathetic and kind at a time when I really needed support and I will be eternally grateful for their help. Stellar work, Tyler and team! Thanks for being there when I needed you!
One small note is that our first floor unit was not accessible because there were three stairs. There may be accessible units elsewhere. I don't know.
We have friends who own units there and have been going there all their lives and really enjoy it.
Would recommend Sea Scape to anyone wanting a family-friendly, reasonable place to stay, a short drive from a beautiful beach and many good restaurants. We loved it and I would definitely stay again. Thank...
Read moreMy husband and I are here in the off season so there aren't many people staying here now (which is nice). Its pretty quiet and peaceful. My sister got this place on timeshare but couldn't make the trip so I thought we might have trouble checking in but the gentleman that checked us in was very pleasant and understanding. No trouble at all.
The unit serves its purpose if you're basically just there to sleep. It's very outdated. There was a surprising lack of information in the welcome package. Cookware and utensils are extremely lacking and in below average condition. The cabinets need to be upgraded/fixed. The sofa is hard and uncomfortable. There's a big cabinet with a Murphy bed in the livingroom. I don't know what the bed is like but the cabinet is barely held shut with a hook and eye closure. I can't manage to have enough hot water to run a bath and the bathtub is kind of weird and awkward anyway. I like that the master bedroom is roomy but the bathroom has no door and is right beside the bed... so if one person is up before the other, they can't shower or turn on a light without disturbing the other person. The bed isn't all that comfortable (although I've experienced much worse) and only one extra sheet set that is too small for the bed. I took pictures but you'll need to ignore our little messes. All in all, the unit is clean and comfortable enough; it just needs some updates and TLC. I don't know the cost of this place but if its comparable to other timeshares she's gotten in the area, this one is at the bottom of the list. If they upgrade and add in more cookware etc, it'd be a pretty...
