Is not just a golf course, it’s an experience! The ONLY reason this is getting 5 stars is because I can’t give ten. I have been coming here for years and each year it seems to be a better experience, maybe because I remember how good the staff always makes me feel and I’m anticipating it, or maybe they really do keep getting better every year. First of all, Dan the club pro is one of a kind. If I had the choice he would be my home course club pro. He is a true professional, intelligent, attentive to his patrons ,as well as the team that works with him. He is a huge part of the AWESOME culture at this place. When things are managed properly by the right people, it all works. This is clearly a very well run club from the owners, management, staff, and the volunteers that help out. Secondly, the food and beverage is fantastic. We had lunch at the club and snacks off the food and beverage cart. Was that real tomato ketchup on those hot dogs? Lastly, the course. We golfed here every day of our week long vacation. Sometimes 18 holes sometimes 9. The starters are organized and accommodating. The course is moderately easy with a few challenging holes. The fairways and greens have always been outstanding. The bunkers have excellent drainage and the sand was consistently medium grain. What I love about golf in the outer banks has to be the wind coming off the coast…to me it resembles the Caribbean. I played almost every course in the outer banks except the Carolina Club and will say that this is my favorite. Thank you Dan, Chris and everyone else who made our vacation a wonderful experience. You are all proof that...
Read moreThis isn't really a review. Since I have not played there yet. We will be coming to outer banks from June 25th- July 1st. I am an avid golfer and looking forward to playing some golf while out there. Been looking at courses to try and find one to take my 12 yr old step son with me to play. He's a pretty solid young golfer, but like any young golfer they don't always play at the same pace as an experienced and solid adult golfer. So my biggest concern is being rushed by course personnel and ruining the experience I would like to share with him. I have no issues with letting faster players thru and doing my best to keep us up with the pace of play. This is the course that he wants to play after looking thru all the courses in the area. However I am a little hesitant to pay that much for a round for him. since none of the courses seem to have junior rates, which I understand, I'm hesitant due to the couple reviews I'm seeing regarding unpleasant staff experiences. Has anyone taken their young teenager or pre-teen kids with them? If so. How was it? I would love to take him to a high caliber course so we can experience his first time on a course like that together. Honest responses please. Don't want to waste money if he won't be able to enjoy...
Read moreI hate to write bad reviews about a golf course and even more so when it's a course that I've played at quite a bit but this place has hired some individuals that don't belong working at golf courses. I most recently played a round of golf here for my birthday when I met the most disrespectful individual named Tanner. Wasn't pleasant in the check in process and was more interested in his phone text messages than what was going on. After the front 9 I stopped at the turn and happened to ask a question where I clearly interrupted a conversation between him and his "Friends" that he was letting out to play a free round. That part I don't care about but when I approached him the highly inappropriate things he was saying about the cart girl who was no more than 17-18 and also the low and dirty things he was saying about female customers is where I draw the line. I'm assuming that in front of his "Boys" he was wanting to be Joe cool but within the small community we live in, and I happen to be a Local it's just disgusting. I understand we're all shorthanded and places are hard to staff but c'mon. Hire people with dignity and respect because these are the individuals that are the face of your business and reputation. Poor decision for the...
