Gateway Inn Knoxville — Hotel in Knoxville

I am a 55 year old resident of knoxville and have stayed in numerous hotels in the area and all around the United States. I want to add that this is the first review I've ever posted in my life. But I felt a strong need to do so because of the treatment and inconsideration of the man at the front desk who told me HE was the owner. My fiance and I have stayed here several times with no issues except the fact that against every fiber of my being, I accepted the uncleanliness and ongoing bug problems all or most of the rooms have. We had to get a different room this very visit because the first room had multiple cockroaches EVERYWHERE!!! My problem though for lowering my standards. We were called at midnight tonight to be told we only had 1 car registered and at checkin that was the case but my fiance had to be at work at 5am and from here we were going opposite directions so we brought his car to save him from going 45 minutes out of his way to an already 1 hour and a half drive to the jobsight he is currently working. We were told either to move one car or pay for another room. I understand the limited parking spots, but there were 16 or more empty spots that I counted. So, we had to get up, load our belongings, drive less than a mile, and rent another room with a different hotel for 4 hours!!!!!! My choice but pay for another room we weren't going to occupy?? Outrageous and absolutely insane to ask of us. We paid for 2 nights at checkin. I felt as though this "owner" could have told us mabey next time you can only have 1 car per room or something less inconvenient for us. It was probably the most unprofessional experience I've ever had and frankly hurt that I was treated in this fashion. We earn our money honestly and work hard for it. Businesses such as this should be thankful and appreciative that we choose to spend it with them. Sorry, such a long post, but thanks to all who read it. And if anyone from this business, even the owner, would like to reply back as to why this had to be handled this way, I would be grateful to...

Well I'm gonna say the truth until you post the truth, the pictures that you have have probably been taking probably 15 years ago the place looks like a pigsty now there are bed bugs I got bitten on my leg several times by something there we ended up after 11 days the foreign man would not allow us to stay because my money had not hit the bank yet oh he said you can have a million dollars in there but if I don't get it off your card I have nothing I said mister we have been here with you 11 days we have paid you $660 because he would not allow us to have weekly rates he charged us nightly rates if he had charged us by the week we would have only had to pay for one seven day week $240! These people are ruining the United States of America and if we don't take it back we are going to be screwed we already are I have so much I can say about them they were drunk people coming in and out of there till the wee hours of the morning waking me up there is so much more that man was rude so yes we went up the road to the other motel that was about a mile and a half called the Sunbeam Motel it was up the street about a mile like I said on the left a small motel with no one on the other side of you no one above you it was very quaint clean and the man was super nice even though he was the same nationality as the other man this man has some nice respectful manners toward all people which is should be that way I'm not prejudiced against anyone but I would not recommend the Gateway Inn in Knoxville Tennessee to anyone in the whole entire United States of America they were horrible you can believe it or not go check it out if you don't believe it I don't have any...

nightmare room 109 no hot water roaches fleas bed was covered with dried blood walls were peeling horrible smell they should be arrested and fined for renting such unsanitary rooms shame on the owners they shouldn't be allowed to own a hotel i have never been in such a disgusting enviroment when owners were confronted they were rude and we were told it was our fault for excepting the room we could of handled dirty bt when we pulled the comfoter off the bed is when we first saw the blood and the smell comming off of it tried to take a shower and discovered no hot water that night was the worst couldn't sit or rest or even touch anything our ankles were bit y god knows what all night and we spent the night counting cockroahes tried to get our money back and they were rude like we were just bein picky they only refunded part of our money we had paid for a week why are they allowed to rent out such disgusting rooms there should be heslth codes inforced on this hotel i wouldent let a dog stay in that room i hope they get shut down soon before anyone else gets stuck in that nightmare room we talked to other people staying there and all the other rooms are filthy and have roaches and fleas too dont stay there if this review keeps anyone from going there than thank god im not kidding this place is the most disgusting place i have ever seen i pray they will be...
