Super 8 by Wyndham Galesburg — Hotel in Knoxville

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The receptionist this morning was EXTREMELY rude to not only my husband and me (at different times) but also another couple. I forgot my home charger at home and asked if they had one that might have been left by another guest and said I'd even stay down there and use it. She didnt even look at what kind of phone I had, just looked me up and down n said not for your phone. I said okay thank you have a blessed day. There was a couple standing at the desk waiting for about 7 min. She kept hollering to them shed be there.I guess filling up the oatmeal packets for the joke of a free breakfast they serve is more important than waiting on customers...apparently she turned my husbands key off before 8 am. He took our son to go get the car fueled up and couldn't use the key in the side door. She said and what do you want me to do about your card supposedly not working...he replied apparently not a thing and came upstairs n we grabbed our belongings and left. Will never stay...

Worse service EVER.. I tried to check into this hotel. They had confirmed my reservation the week before via the phone, however when I got there on the 18th to check in they informed me we had already checked in and stayed! Impossible. I had a wedding to attend so I was going to pay for another room , get whatever paperwork they had and figure it out on Monday . (this was a Saturday) They man behind the counter, whom I can only imagine is an owner started to say things like "this is all your fault" and this is what you get for booking online.. ect.. WHAT!?! I am the customer, I did not as him for a free room. I did not even ask for an immediate refund, although I FULLY intend to receive one. I have since called the back to fight the charges.. BUT THIS man had the audacity to treat me like dirt on his shoe, and make the already bad experience worse.. Needless to say we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express.. Close by and great...

2025 Update: I also never received a refund. Tried disputing it with my CC company and hotel management denied it with them as well. Could not emphasize staying away from this hotel any more more.

I checked in late in the evening. It was a very cheap hotel that I just needed for a night, so I was willing to deal with issues like the dead bug in the room, the stained sheets, lack of breakfast, and run down paint job. However, about 20-30 minutes after laying down a bed bug ran across the bedding.

I said I was willing to try another room as far away from that one as possible. I was offered a room directly above that one. When I walked in and the non-smoking room reeked of smoke, I left.

The frazzled employee at the front desk ensured me a refund, but I had to find another hotel at almost midnight that cost me significantly more.
