I’m sad to be posting this review, because I really wanted to enjoy my stay here. I did a lot of research on this hotel/resort and a few others before booking my stay. The plan was to spend a few days in La Quinta and just absolutely zen out. I picked this resort because there are so many different amenities and luxuries available on site. I liked the fact that I wouldn’t have to leave much. My stay was reserved from the 27 of may to the 31st. The first night went very very well. It was so quiet and serene. The room was very clean feeling, the property itself is absolutely stunning, parking was a breeze. It was all going well. The second day started off well. Their biggest pool where you can lounge under cabanas is by far the busiest. There are numerous pools on the property, my one complaint is not having enough shade. They had some umbrellas near the pools but they don’t do much to shield you from the sun and heat. It was about 100 when I was there. I was a very short distance from a pool that was completely empty and I thoroughly enjoyed that. That day I spent mostly out and about exploring La Quinta, when I returned back to my room, I noticed the resort was quite busier that it was the night before. I assumed that it was because of Memorial Day. Initially it was okay, but I did notice some rather noisy guests had checked in across from my Casita. They were playing music on a speaker and their kids were playing right in the communal space outside the casita. A couple hours later, someone checked in in the Casita above mine. I was taking a bath at 10 when I really noticed them. I don’t know if this was more how they were walking or more about how thin the floors were but it seemed as if they were stomping from 10pm to midnight. I mean stomping. The walls would shake, the shower door would rattle, the ceiling fan would even rattle. It was unbelievably loud. At one point at about 11:30, I reached out to management and let them know. They said they would notify the guests and ask them to keep it down. It did quiet down for a short time, and then started right back up again and went until about 12:30am. On the 29th, well, that entire day was MISERABLE. Across from me, directly above me, and above me to the left all of the guests knew each other. They were throwing a party all day long. Extremely loud amplified music, yelling and loud voices, doors slamming, stomping. I mean, it was just miserable. I really was not trying to be difficult or high maintenance, but I came to this resort specifically to relax, and when everyone around you is partying it is very very difficult. When I first booked, they ask you to go over the policies, I believe you even sign something to acknowledge them, one of the policies is a noise ordinance which they say is enforced. I was in contact with management a lot. I didn’t expect no noise, it is a hotel, but I was in the middle of several parties. It was a battle I wasn’t going to win. I reached out to management, and spoke initially to Dan. Dan’s response did not impress me. His exact words were, “This building was actually built better than 99% of the hotels out there but people are going to celebrate a little with their families on a big holiday weekend.” This was not a “little” celebration. And had I known I would be competing with amplified music, yelling and loud voices, and stomping until midnight two nights in a row, I would have chosen a different resort. I reached out to Michelle who generally has been easier to deal with. She apologized and said she would refund me for Sunday night. I tried to stay out of the resort for the majority of that evening so I wouldn’t be so annoyed , and every time I came back, I felt pushed out by the guests. I felt uncomfortable. Checked out the next day. Very disappointing stay. Miserable. I wanted to love it, but my experience was just awful.
Update- Owners have updated their originally very defensive response. I also did not receive a full refund, only a refund for one night as I...
Read moreThe location was grand, as were the Saturday and Sunday breakfasts, and the exercise facilities. We stayed in 498-605 for ten days in January, 2023.|However, do not expect the unit to be clean and do not expect the "24/7 security" to be anything more than window dressing. On the first two days of our visit, we cleaned and vacuumed the filth left behind from the prior occupants. On the last night of our visit, a person in a vehicle was allowed through the front 'security' gate, and that person accessed our unit at 3:30 am in the morning! I yelled at him when he entered (we were sleeping) and he left, but it was pretty unsettling. The "Security" crew refused to get involved at all. They said that was not their job? They advised us to phone the police or the owner. They were absolutely clear that they were not going to do anything about it. ||We made calls to the manager and to the owner, with no response from either until much later in the day. We were later provided with a story that would be impossible for us to verify, and which they chalked up to a 'mistake', by a member of their staff. At 3:30 am ?||The intruder had not identified himself as a staff member, nor knocked, nor made any noise (except for opening the door and entering), and not until I yelled. To be clear, there is no way to secure yourself (as a guest) in the unit. I complained about that. There is no independent 'dead bolt', door stop, swing bar door guard, lock bar or any other way to stop entry, as there is (and should be) in every other hotel we have ever stayed in. Anyone with a code or pass key was able to enter the unit unimpeded, whether it is occupied or not. Perhaps it was my job to prop a chair up against the door, or something !|| The unit also had a 'lock off' connected to it, and we were repeatedly assured that there was no one staying there, which was just not true, and which I verified with a different staff member who had delivered a vacuum cleaner to us, and who entered the lock off, in our presence. There was clear evidence that someone was staying there. The whole scene and the sense of mystery involved did not sit well, nor leave us feeling 'comfortable' by any stretch. Given the cost, that was completely unacceptable.||The unit we rented has one parking space assigned to it, which is clearly marked. However, there is no enforcement and the reality is that anyone and everyone will park in it, leaving the guest (me) to scramble around to park elsewhere, even though other parking is very limited. Again,"Security" does not enforce parking rules nor take steps to remove the offending car, nor provide you (the guest) with alternatives.||I doubt that the person they described as the "owner" was actually the owner, because I suspect the real owner would be far more alarmed about this than either the manager or the purported "owner" seemed to be. ||Please be wary and don't assume that even the bare minimum requirements will be satisfied. I could go on, but will leave it at that. Management of the entire property needs to be examined and particularly with respect...
Read moreI have stayed at Legacy Villas twice; once with my mother in an independently owned villa booked through VRBO pre-COVID. My second and most recent visit to the property was on a business trip booked direct through the Legacy Villas website. In total I have spent nearly a month here in recent years.||I love this property. It’s well maintained and much less chaotic than the La Quinta Resort & Club adjacent to it. The grounds are well-manicured and there are swimming pools tucked away in every corner to discover! It’s hard to review the condition of the units as they are independently owned but I will say the unit booked through VRBO was far superior. From the little touches like pool bags and toys to a bottle of wine upon arrival, the owner truly thought of everything! The unit my company booked for me through Legacy Villas was tiny (the size of a small standard hotel room) so I would not opt to book the studio room. In addition they only provided one towel each for an 8 day stay which was pretty ridiculous considering they did not offer housekeeping during our stay. Our VRBO unit offered a dedicated number parking spot whereas our direct booking did not. We were always able to find a spot though. It is not easy to walk to the La Quinta Resort next door (it’s doable but the entry to the resort is not very walker friendly) so I suggest renting a car if you’ll be attending a conference next door. Actually a car is basically a necessity since this is a condo complex and not a resort. I believe they have or at one point, had, a pool grill or something along those lines but for the most part you’ll need to cook your own food or venture out. Keep in mind this is not a traditional “resort.” ||I loved lounging on the hammocks and discovering new corners of this beautiful property! It was nice that this property was gated and you had to show pass to get in with your vehicle. It felt relatively secure all things considered.||Obviously this is a condo/townhouse complex and not a resort so you’ll need to venture |Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this property especially if you need more space. I would recommend booking through VRBO or Airbnb for better and more personalized service than direct with the property management company. I would also recommend booking a larger unit...
