I've stayed at some rough and cheap places before but nothing has come close to how bad this place is. 100 dollars for the night and the room is horrible. Dead bug in the bath tub and ceiling tiles falling off the ceiling. No active locks inside and no windows towards your car makes you feel very uncomfortable. The door handle inside just came right off as I shut the door. Mold littered the ceiling from all the water damage. We felt uncomfortable and left without spending the night. I brought up the issues with the staff at the front and he seemed like a chill guy, but he called the owner to let him know the issues and the owner was gonna come by and "check it out" like he isn't aware of the absolute horrid state this place is in. To charge 100 a night is a crime. 20 bucks is what this place is worth, that and a restless night of sleep that's for sure. I should note that half the pictures that show the interiors of the rooms don't even look like they're from the same motel

I would not board my dog here. Doesn’t look like they cleaned or updated anything since the colonial era. Nothing is within walking distance, the raving review that mentioned that is a total fabrication. 1. Place looks a feels dirty 2. Room had a burned out light bulb. Called three times and finally someone was SENT to the front desk from one of the rooms to get it and an extra towel since they only provide one. 3. Closest restaurants are still a mile down the road on what I would call a narrow busy street and my night vision is very lacking. Drove it anyway and made it back but wasn’t easy. If not for the night vision issue and my bad knee I would have looked elsewhere but nothing else is in this immediate area. Don’t stay here, sleep in your car.

The place is relatively clean, family owned, people are friendly, def looks a lil outdated but who cares everything works just fine. Also when I locked myself out of my room late at night they were sooo nice about opening it. Definitely recommend if your on a budget at need a hotel room or even place to stay. Oh and no bed bugs although ngl this place is so outdated and kinda ghetto which is why it get 4 stars from me instead of 5.

I had low expectations, but the Economy Inn was unacceptable. I was visiting Purdue for a Mother's Weekend with my freshman daughter. When I drove up, a woman and guy were sitting on the curb smoking so I walked into the lobby. My first thought was that the motel had changed hands or closed and was in transition. There was not one thing on the stark white walls. The desk was a formica top with nothing on the wall behind - nothing! I asked the desk clerk (woman smoking in front) if they were open & she said "Oh, yes, don't let the fact that there were no cars in the parking lot make me think they weren't open as no one in the motel drives." How do they get anywhere and she cheerfully replied that they take the bus.||I went ahead and checked in. I drove to the back of the motel to the very end room. One other vehicle was at the motel. The room door was splotchy grey and I warily unlocked it and pushed the door open. The inside of the room was not that bad, but very sparse. However, there was no way to lock the door from the inside - no deadbolt or push lock. Plus when you stood back in the dim room, light shone under the room door.||I moved my suitcase into the room and headed to pick up my daughter. As I drove away, my anxiety level kept growing. I quickly drove to the Union Hotel at Purdue and luckily they had one room for the night (previously all accommodations were booked.) I drove back to the Economy Inn about 2 hours later and still only one other car in the lot & the same one at that. My daughter was mortified as well plus around the corner from my room was another row of rooms that were obviously being remodeled? with lumber outside. The back fence had boards missing and the back yards of the houses on the other side were not too pretty.||I stopped at the front office and let the clerk know that I was afraid to stay with her as the door did not have a proper lock and I was on the very end. I requested that she refund my money, but she declined and said that if she had known I was a single woman she would have moved me closer to the front.||I was very worried about returning to this motel and my room there after dark. It was spooky enough in day light - actually reminded me of the "Twilight Zone." I am surprised that Trip Advisor even carries...

What began as a classic Motel 6 mistake ended in a night of bliss. Allow me to guide you through the adventure a group of friends, fans, and financially conscious folks embarked on that culminated in a restful night at the Economy Inn. The Economy Inn in Lafayette Indiana is located at the intersection of luxury and affordability. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with the keys to the palace. For a low price of just a few dollars you will gain access to a room with all of the comforts of home. Before your night out, take a minute to take a luxurious shower, indulge in a power nap, or wash your hands in the sink. After my friends and I mingled with our neighbors, we were ready to hit the town. The Economy Inn is located close to all of the attractions of Lafayette, Indiana, such as West Lafayette, Indiana. We ubered to a football game between trains and lions. We rooted for the trains. However, the trains lost. You might think the night was ruined. You would be wrong. You can never lose when you stay at the Economy Inn. By 2:30 AM, we could not stay away from the Economy Inn any longer. It was pulling us back into its arms. And good thing it was. As you can imagine, many of us were not coherent at 2:30 AM. Thankfully, the building was still there (You never know if it’ll still be there). While the Economy Inn provides complimentary pillows, you can also use your shoe as a pillow. One of our friends did that. You can also sleep on the floor if desired. That same friend did that too. Unfortunately, morning came all too early. However, you can ask for a checkout very easily by sleeping in too late. You will be greeted in the morning with a lovely shower and working sink. Perhaps the best surprise is when you see your credit card bill and wonder how you got such an amazing experience for such a low price. Thank you,...

So. I came here because no hotels had vacancy's. I knew there was something wrong when there were only 3 other people there. I inspected the mattress and there weren't any sign of bed bugs or anything(worked at a hotel back in the day so they show us what to look for, or so I thought.) The mattress was from the 70s in Texas hotels aren't allowed to use mattresses past 10 years old. Was like hmm. Well we gotta take what we can get. So I took off my shoes and the carpet just felt sticky. My dog threw up after sniffing around. I assume because the bug spray they spray. Definitely was toxic to my support animal. Then after 2 minutes of laying down, a huge bed bug crawls out. I knew then that I should have went with my 1st instinct. Safe to say I got my refund with no problem and slept in my car at cracker barrel. I do not recommend. Also, the outlets weren't covered. And in the light fixture in the restroom there was a lightbulb and behind it there was a cord from a brown extension cord. I understand that's their business, but they definitely need to put A LOT of TLC. The people in that town at hotels from what I can tell are people traveling for work and leisure. Imagine how much they can make by fixing it up. Everything was fully vacated but this place. And I...
