I had the absolute worst experience at this hotel. When I made reservations for a week, I told the person on the reservation line that I had of registered emotional support animal and I was told they were pet friendly but I would have to pay a $15 a day Pet fee. I checked in at 10:00 pm. At 10:00 a.m. the next morning I received a knock on my door asking me to come down and speak to the front desk. I went down and they asked me if I had a pet. I told them yes, that I had a registered emotional support animal and that I mentioned that on the reservation line and paid the $15 per day fee when I paid for the hotel for the week. They asked me what type of pet I had and I told them feline. They told me that they did not allow felines in the hotel and that I needed to get my stuff and be out of the room within 30 minutes. I very hurriedly started taking my belongings and putting them outside beyond their parking lot. It was cold and raining and my stuff was getting wet. I got my stuff out within the 30 minutes, and they told me they normally don't give refunds but they were going to refund me the other 6 days back to me, but it might take up to 10 business days. This was all the money that I had. I had no access to it, therefore I could not go to another hotel. They literally put me out in the rain wearing just a windbreaker, basketball shorts and tennis shoes. It was 42° outside. I started trying to figure out what to do next, and because I was cold and had my cat I noticed there was a vent that was blowing hot air and we stood by it while I was trying to figure out what to do. They told me that I could not stand there any longer and I said okay and I stepped over to where my stuff was off their property. I called an old neighbor and asked her if she could come with her truck and take me to the next hotel. She was 2 mi away. The manager proceeded to come out and tell me that if I didn't leave the premises soon he was going to have to call the police and have me trespassed! These people were absolutely ruthless, uncaring and absolutely apathetic! So as far as the staff is concerned they suck! The room was okay. The location is wonderful. It's right next to a bus line that runs every 30 minutes. Has access to sheets convenience store gas station and by bus a food Lion that's about a mile down the road. I saw no continental breakfast so I'm not sure what others are referring to when it comes to that. That's the best thing I can say about this hotel. They claimed that it's a non-smoking hotel, but you smell weed all throughout the hotel. At one point and time one of the clerks came out and I could smell marijuana on her. So just make sure you read the fine print and know their rules before you visit this place because you might just end out on the street with no place to go freezing...

Read moreI travel a ton for work and stay in hotels all over the place. First impressions when pulling up to the hotel already showed a massive lack of parking if they were fully booked. Storage containers are all over the parking lot which limits parking. Granted we also had a large trailer, but even standard passenger cars have limited spaces.||We arrived around 8pm and check in took a bit longer than usual as well. ||Rooms seemed clean, the AC unit was working and the room was cool. ||However the bathroom's shower controls were not intuitive and it took me more than a minute to figure out that the hot water setting was at the beginning of the turn for the water and not the far end like most every other shower. So be sure to mess with that before you get frustrated with lukewarm or cold showers. ||On top of that the remodel had closed the pool. Bummer if you wanted to take a dip. ||The bed felt average. Blankets kept me warm. Pillows are very soft, but I honestly like a firmer pillow, would be nice to have both options in the room. ||My biggest complaint came from the breakfast performance. Especially when I travel and don't have my own transportation I rely on the breakfast to get me moving in the morning. ||Egg omelette, breakfast potatoes, and bacon were all placed in a water bath to stay warm but the steam it created made the egg kinda slimy, the potatoes super soft and mushy, and I tried the bacon and threw it away after one bit. I was tempted to throw it all away because nobody should eat steamed bacon. The apple juice was also oddly watered down and I decided to just drink water instead. ||I'll be skipping breakfast or only taking the packaged yogurt from now on most likely. ||The remodel has a few things closed and looking like they are being worked on, and that's to be expected, but even a fresh coat of paint and new pictures on the wall don't fix the basics of a good bed, good food, and a comfortable place to refresh. ||For the price it's exactly how I rated...
