Never Again!! I have been to quite a few consignment and thrift stores throughout the city. I consider myself an expert. I can honestly say that this is one of the more over priced one's that I have been to. I get it make your money, but don't be greedy (especially if it's for a good cause). I also have never felt so uneasy and uncomfortable shopping anywhere, but I did in this shop. I usually don't like to be bothered when I'm shopping, unless I come to you for assistance. I was approached by two women (one was an employee), who had nothing better to do than attempt to engage in awkward chatter (and as predicted, they didn't know when to end). I don't think they realized, or cared that they were making me feel uncomfortable. They were condescending and rude. I find that some people don't have the best communication skills, and force unnecessary conversation's onto innocent people. I'm not anti social, but I can tell who's going to hold me up chatting when I'm on a mission (any true thrifter knows this, IJS). The selection of clothes wasn't great, and to add insult to injury they were also overpriced. It appears to cater to a much older demographic. I went right down the street to Goodwill and purchased 2 Michael Kors coats, one was butter soft leather, a wool coat and warm running jacket for $40 ( I will post in my Goodwill review). Westend Thrift had a hideous leather jacket ( off brand, not that it matters to me) for $350, their tag, not new! I'm sure my items would have cost me a lot more in this shop. I went, I saw, I'm...
Read moreI was all excited to enter this thrift shop when I saw all the people heading in, people parking even in the lot next door as the parking lot to this place is small. Once inside I was a lot less impressed. Maybe being older and already having so much , but nothing I saw impressed me or seemed even slightly interesting. I collect Christmas items all year long and did see one angel statue but at $10 was way too expensive. Nowadays I have to wonder if the people who price items in thrift stores have even been in any of the many discount stores in the Greater Richmond area. I also saw an old bedroom set of furniture that was interesting but definitely not worth the $2,400 they were asking. I still do find interesting bargains in thrift stores, but this isn't the place for that. Overpriced junk is...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem! One of my favorite spots in Richmond to pick up unique pieces for my home! The staff clearly very carefully curates the items from their donations so the items on the floor are always in excellent condition and they sell them at true “thrift store” prices with additional discounts which is not easy to come by these days. I appreciate West End Thrift’s attention to detail and their warm staff that is always knowledgeable, welcoming and enthusiastic. I always leave with something I’m excited to display in my home and feeling like I did something fun and got...
