We were four adults between 60 and 65 years of age. The location of our unit was right above the marina so it provided a lot of interesting entertainment with boats going in and out. It was great to drink coffee in the morning and refreshing beverages in the evening and just relax. ||We were grateful for a nice place to stay, but offer a few suggestions:||1) With two couples sharing the cost of the unit for a two bedroom space, the second bedroom should be as nice as the one with the king size bed. The second bedroom bed was barely the size of a double bed and didn't offer our friends a very comfortable nights sleep. Staying on the sleeper sofa wasn't an option for them because early risers would wake them up.||2) Toilet bowls need updating. You will be sitting very low so be prepared if your older.||3) The sliding door to the lovely balcony was awful. The wheels on the bottom of the door were crushed so getting in and out without throwing your back out was a challenge. The maintenance man came as soon as possible but was only able to make temporary adjustments to the door. It was better after he made adjustments but still very challenging.||4) We had one assigned parking space and another car parked in our space for an entire day and night over the weekend. Since the office was closed, there was no one to help with this issue. We parked in guest parking that day.||5) We wished the pool would have been available but totally understand the ordinance by the city made that impossible because of Covid.||6) Lovely area and wonderful for day time drives. Great small cafe - Cafe Lago near by is open for breakfast and lunch. It's a place the locals go and you can know the food is great.||7) We loved it at Texas Timeshare and will likely go back. The management staff is excellent and communicates beautifully with guests. Perhaps some of our suggestions will aid in improving this...
Read moreThis is the only waterfront rental I’ve ever been to with NO water access. What a disappointment. Do not stay here if you don’t have a car. You’ll be driving a lot because there is nothing to do. The pool was closed Due to Covid. I have 3 kids under 6 and we drove somewhere everyday (sometimes twice a day) to swim and hike and play. There is a marina next door so if you have a boat that would have been great. There is no public access though. We brought tunes for floating but had no way of getting to the water. The trees were very overgrown so even though we were literally right on the water we couldn’t even see it. The patio that wraps the unit is nice but would be better with the trees trimmed. The unit is fine, thankfully the AC, WiFi and cable TV work. The bathrooms and kitchens are 30 years out of date. The furniture was nice but not super comfortable. The walls need to be painted especially in the bathrooms. The refrigerator froze all our food. There is a washer and dryer stack on top unit in the kitchen which worked great! The BBQs are for charcoal only, that is not ideal for a quick burger for kids. We wished they had a community propane grill available. Overall I was pretty disappointed. I was happy to be in a rental that had it’s own Air conditioning unit so we weren’t sharing air with people who might have Covid. However my kids loved the “hut” as they called it. There were deer around the property in the evenings my youngest loved to watch. Lakeway is a very nice city. Lakeway City Park and Hamilton Greenbelt were beautiful. Also a little further away was Pace Bend Park that was...
Read moreThese are fine if you don't pay much. They're outdated, and it shows. Maintenance is obviously underfunded; the little things need attention.
We stayed in #5: The toilet ran, or didn't, depending on the day. The fridge gasped loudly for life. The ballast in the kitchen light was dead. There were burns in the carpet in front of the fireplace. It smelled old, and was.
Our first few nights were spent cohabitating with a family of raccoons living in the attic. The babies chattered all night. I wore earplugs. On our fifth night, something serious went down, as there was a huge fight up there around 3:30 AM. It lasted a nerve-wracking 30 minutes. I don't know who won, but the babies got spread around and were no longer isolated to a certain spot. The office finally moved us to unit #16.
The views are great. The pool looked neat, but it was too cold to get in. It's quiet and peaceful, overlooking a finger coming off of Lake Travis. Deer and foxes played at dawn, nearby. With a little love and care, these yurts could be...
