The $16 Fried Catfish basket is amazing. I would eat that again and again, definitely a 10/10 from someone who grew up eating Cajun food in Louisiana, you guys know how to cook better than some cajun restaurants. I recently moved to the Round Rock area ans I had to see this wonderful and unique hidden attraction in the Austin Area. There is people who have lived in the area far much longer that I have and have never visited this wonderful and amazing place and I have went ahead and shared this to them. This place deserves more attention and I would come here again for sure! I have never eaten in a restaurant that literally floats on top of water. That sounds like something you would hear in the luxury resorts in the pacific and indian ocean but this restaurant takes that idea and makes it easily affordable. There are seafood restaurants that charge more and their food doesn't share the same quality as Captain Pete's. Captain Pete's is an "S" tier establishment. I spent less than $100 here with my family of 4 people. I would average close to $20 per person here but remember that you are eating on top of water like a true lady/gentlemen that you are. For food quality, the fries taste fresher than Five Guys fries and I would give it a fair comparison since Five Guys has one of the best fries out there. Captain Pete's fries is BETTER! The hushpuppies are great, definitely a 4/5. But you are here the entree, not for the hushpuppies. The coleslaw has a taste a lemon in it and its the best coleslaw I have ever tasted in a restaurant. Don't even bring up Raising Canes's coleslaw, we all know its subpar in the industry. The Fried Catfish itself was neither too crispy or too soggy. It is exactly what a FrIed Catfish is supposed to be but Captain Pete's does it BETTER with more flavor. The food portion will leave you full before you can eat it all. I did my best. The service was excellent. The servers/hostess makes you feel like you got invited into someone's home for dinner. Overall 10/10 and amazing and unique location. Also don't forget to see the LIVE Catfish!

Our party of three got out on the lake mid morning all the while watching out for rain and storms. We were very lucky to miss the rain and to find Captain Pete's. We arrived after the lunch rush and we were seated right away. We placed our order with the help of our awesome waiter. He recommendations were spot on. As we waited for our food to be served, we watched 3 little children as they appeared to bed feeding the ducks. Larry we saw they were feeding hundreds of very large catfish right off the dock! Be sure to go to the railing on the patio lakeside to see some really huge catfish. We were also treated to some live music out on the patio. Everything was really clean and the staff was very friendly. They do have inside dining and a bar if you prefer. We will definitely have lunch with Captain Pete on our next trip to the lake!

After reading other reviews, I really hoped to bunk the low reviews and post about a great experience. Unfortunately we arrived and were told it would be a long wait (over an hour) for a table so we sat at the bar. Less than 10 minutes after getting settled at the bar, our phone alerted us that a table was ready. We wouldn’t have chosen the bar if we’d known a table could become available. The staff was great, but our food took almost 2 hours. We arrived at 7:00 and food came at 8:45. Clearly the order got lost. We weren’t in a hurry, although we were hungry! We watched the boats and enjoyed talking while we waited. The food was not hot when it arrived. Having said all that we still enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff. We will try again.

I am very, very, very physically drained & tired from today's job. I thought that I would stop in "The Boat" bc I wanted some great food. Well, I'm tearfully disappointed regarding the food. It was just ok and to my surprise I reached back out to the Mgr and she was like more frustrated that I called her so her immediate response was "I wish that you had said something b4 you left, what do you want from me, you paid for it! ....RUDE at it's best......WOW....what Mgr says that? No customer relations what so ever.. ..I saw her go speak to a table not far from where we were sitting then she headed to the kitchen but ironically she never came and asked us anything and we were close to that table......I was very tired & exhausted so instead of asking for her in person I made the mistake of calling her while enroute home. I initially tried to be pleasant so I told her that the waitress was nice...I didn't say that initially what we ordered was returned back to the kitchen bc I got frustrated about that bc honestly I have never returned food back in my life so bc of my embarassment, I just felt like I should just accept whatever sothat I wouldn't be more embarrassed from the kitchen but overall the food just wasn't satisfying & I ended up taking primarily all of it back home. If the waitress was observant she would have noticed that but she was busy so bc I spent over $105 for my brother and I to eat, I didn't feel like it was worth the money that was spent now I told the Mgr that I was not looking to be refunded but her entire attitude sent me to another place emotionally so I ended the call......

I initially got Flounder it was so little like a child's portion lil so I now know that the boneless Flounder is not what I desire at all hence it means that the whole Flounder & even Catfish with the bones taste better.... so I expressed that to the waitress & I then ordered shrimp.......who can mess up shrimp...well the cook needs to understand that it was fried wayyyyyy too hard...the onion rings were even fried so hard, when you bite into them there was absolutely no onion taste and the crust popped all the way across the table....it was frightening so I never finished eating either item I just bagged them up to throw away.......the only thing that was good was my salad.....but why is there a $3.50 upcharge for a salad???...that is crazy people eat salads with their main entree........

My brother ended up with my flounder but 2 pieces of??. bc his baked catfish was very small so he returned that back to the kitchen.....he decided to take it home but I just know most people don't order in and take most of the food back home so if she cared about her restaurant she would know that something wasn't right...I wanted tarter sauce for my shrimp...tarter sauce goes with shrimp and fish.... ranch dressing goes on salads and is used with onion rings but the waitress gave me ranch for both my shrimp and onion rings.???...I never said that I wanted that in fact I requested tarter sauce several times so what waitress makes decisions for the customer's food without clarifying with them???....the waitress had to be asked to refill our drinks so that in of itself shows me she didn't really care. I noticed that my coke was flat but I kept having to get her attention versus her being attentive to our table....you know being attentive to the customer's needs is vital in a restaurant. I'm a paying customer. ....I felt like my evening was ruined...the Mgr or whatever position she holds needs to be retrained.........how can you have this type of catastrophe in a restaurant that I've been to twice b4. The 1st time was great, the 2nd time I brought 3 people with my brother & I and I spent over $400 plus a very sizeable tip and I did not have the problem that I had yesterday, Tuesday 6/24. ...I can not ever go back to this restaurant "The Boat" anymore but bc I couldn't sleep last night ..Because of my 1st 2 experiences I have referred countless of customers to this restaurant The food was...

We arrived by boat and parking is very limited. That’s not a bad mark against them. There is a dock crew to help. There was a live band playing. They were okay generally, but the volume was so incredibly loud that, though they were outside you couldn’t have a conversation inside without yelling. The hostesses were clueless with them just standing around the hostess stand with no awareness of tables coming available so tables were left empty for long periods of time. We were seated inside after I walked around and reported back to them that there were five tables clean and empty and others which were also available (all inside). Our waiter, Guy seemed very nice…in the beginning. We ordered everything at his initial visit. We ordered an appetizer, children’s grilled cheese and a side salad, asking for them to be delivered first, as well as simple meals of hamburger, fried shrimp, and bang bang tacos. Over an hour later we still didn’t have anything to eat. When we were able to flag down Guy he laughed and said there was nothing he could do and they would murder him if he asked. Finally, our adult entrees arrived …cold and greasy. Still no sign of the child’s meal appetizer or salad. We had to involve the manager to get those. Server Guy thought this was quite funny. Never checked back. Took forever to get our bill, even longer to pay. Two and a half hours was entirely too long for too little return....
