We setup reservations through Booking.com for $360.67 (tax included). Upon check in with Motel 6 we were told the amount due was $470.36. The clerk (Katie) was thoughtful enough to offer us the "in-house special since our original reservation was for six nights and seven days in a smoking room totaling $371.86. The room was nicely updated, though the floors were sticky. We were put in a non-smoking room that reeked of tobacco, drugs and body odor. Bedsheets had stains on them. Several flies already occupied the room. There was no phone in the room assigned. WiFi was not reliable and could only be connected to by going into the lobby first before returning to your room. Cable consisted of 15 channels with poor reception (grainy or streaked lines through 11 of the 15 channels) and even audible static on several of the channels. Several outlets were broken and poorly taped with masking tape or left exposed. We were told we would be moved to a smoking room as soon as one became available. We checked in on a Friday. By Sunday evening a maid without a mask and a horrible cough knocked our door as we were about to head out for plans to tell us a room was available on the upper floor. I explained our plans and asked if we could move when we returned and was told "yes". Upon return, the clerk's had changed. The new clerk did not know what room exchange I was talking about and told me to speak with the clerk on the next shift. The guests were loud with stereos and conversations in adjoining rooms and hallways. We had several questionable characters banging on our room door through the days and nights of our stay. Individuals rummaged the dumpster frequently without care for the noise they made. Dog piles were everywhere there was grass. People gathered in groups, publicly drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco and pot at nearly all the side entrances/exits with the doors propped open. We decided to check out Wednesday morning for our own comfort and safety. Upon check out we were informed we would not receive any portion of our fees paid, though there was no posting of a "No Refund" policy anywhere in the lobby or receipt given other than the clerk hand writing "2 days non-refundable" when I inquired about the no refund policy in writing. I will NEVER recommend this motel to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable and fairly priced place to...
Read moreThe woman at the front desk with the braids was absolutely the most rude, mean-spirited person I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry.
I stayed the night in my friend's room. He got the room because it was so cold, and he had a few days between moving out of his place and his new place being ready. His ride was unavailable to come get him until 2:30pm.
He asked for a late check out, and they were only willing to give him until noon. They made him forfeit his $75 deposit for the one extra hour. The room was only $67.75 per night, so how on Earth did one extra hour cost $75?
We were running slightly late with packing everything up and moving it outside when at 12:05 the lady from the front police-style banged on the door and screamed "GET OUT" at us.
(That is absolutely not an acceptable way to treat another human being, let alone a GUEST.)
When we got outside, I packed my things into the bed of my truck. I changed my shoes and was securing my bags in the back with a tarp and straps when the same woman came outside and said, "You need to leave or I'm going to go call the po-pos" (police).
What - exactly - about me loading my vehicle would give the impression that I intended to stay?
Is it common practice to threaten people who have been polite and have caused no damage or disruption with implied violence while they peacefully vacate the premises?
She wouldn't even let me finish strapping the tarp down. I had to leave and go across the street to a shopping center to get the last strap in place.
I can't imagine why she would be so rude. We were quiet, we were polite. I had wiped down the bathroom and vanity, leaving the room in a better condition than how we received it.
I know everyone has bad days, but weeks later, I still cannot wrap my head around being this badly mistreated by their worker IN ADDITION TO BEING CHARGED FOR MORE THAN ANOTHER NIGHT'S STAY.
It goes without saying that this woman has no business working with the public, especially in a hospitality setting, and this motel ripped off my...
Read moreAlthough when I came the room was clean and the staff was nice. The maintenance and repair needed at this place was over the top. I stayed 5 days. I had a pet with me and the first couple days the grass was not cut. It was almost up to your knees, so very difficult to walk the dog. The first day, the A/C went out in my room, and I had to move rooms. One day they picked up my towels and trash, but never serviced my room, so towels were low and I had no liners in the trash cans. The first night was ok, but every night after that, after I would take my shower the smoke alarm would go off. It only beeped about three times, so by morning I would forget to tell them. finally on the 4th night it went off several times, so I told them about it. They changed the batteries, and also "cleaned" my room throwing a few of my personal items away. Then that night the smoke alarm went off several times. I asked that they take the battery out of it (which they did) it was scaring my dog to death. It was ok for a couple hours then it started going off again. So they maintenance came and put in a new one. Then a couple hours later it started going off again. So at 2:30 am. I moved rooms again. The first room they put me in, I walked in and there was soapy water coming up in the sink, so they moved me to another room. Got very little sleep that night with a 7 hour drive ahead of me the next day. And my dog was beside herself when the alarm kept going off. Even though I was all the way at the other end of the hall I could still hear the alarm which kept going the rest of the night. I don't know how anybody in surrounding room got any sleep. Also for the last two days the light at the end of the hall was blinking on and off, so after I moved I had to put up with that in the hall and under my door. This property has such potential, but is a maintenance nightmare. The night clerk did refund one night of my stay, but I was told two different times, with all my problems the manager would get with me, which...
