Best Western Revere exceeded all expectations!
Before I review my stay at this hotel, I thought I would give a little background that would give you an idea of my expectations.
I haven't stayed at a Best Western in decades. I was never a fan of their brand and have been very loyal to Hilton/Hampton Inn, staying there whenever possible. However, when my girlfriend and I planned our two-night trip to Lancaster PA, we were intrigued by the Best Western PLUS hotels in the area and decided to try them. That being said, Revere was not my first choice. The Intercourse hotel only a few short miles away was more expensive, and we thought as such, we would have a much better experience there. However, the difference in price between the two hotels was pretty significant for two nights and we reluctantly settled on the Revere location. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that I was going to enjoy my stay.
My first inclination that we were in for a very positive stay was when the hotel sent me a text message keeping me updated on the availability of my room. We arrived in town early, I put in a check-in request. Much to my surprise, I received a text that my room was ready and we headed to the hotel.
Check-In at the front desk was an enjoyable experience thanks to the extremely friendly front desk staff. As rewards members, we were offered a coupon for two bottles of cold water during our stay, which I thought was very nice.
The hotel was completely sold out for the two days we were there. I was told by the reservation agent that we got the very last room. It was a 2-bed Queen room which as a couple we did not need, but beggars can't be choosey. When we got to the room we found it to be very clean and inviting. The bathroom was nicely sized. There was a coffee maker and fridge. Wireless internet was complimentary. Presently, the hotel staff is only cleaning rooms for those checking out. I believe this is due to being short-staffed post-Covid. So, during our two-day stay, we were not offered a daily cleaning. However, we were instructed to put our dirty towels in a basket, put them outside our door, and they would be replaced. This worked out wonderfully and was rewarded with an ample amount of clean towels during our stay.
Our bed was very comfortable. We didn't hear our neighbors, though as usual, parents allowed their kids to race the hallways late at night which was momentarily disrupting but not a huge issue. In all, we had a very pleasant rest.
Breakfast is included with the stay between 7-10 am with coffee being available 24 hours. The breakfast was actually pretty good. It's slightly changed up from day to day but basically has hot eggs, sausage or Canadian bacon, yogurt, cereal, bagels, jelly, and muffins. There are two waffle machines with syrup, whip cream, and other toppings.
We tried to beat the crowd and have breakfast around 7:45 am. However, when we came down it was already fairly crowded. The waffle makers were a bit difficult to get to, but we did find that if we hang out a bit the crowd levels would die down before starting another surge. In all, we thought that the offering was quite good.
We did manage to use both the indoor and outdoor pools including the hot tub. The hot tub is more lukewarm than hot, but it was enjoyable. We lucked out and were able to find the pools empty during the late afternoon (when most people are sightseeing). We did talk to someone who said that we were really lucky to be able to enjoy the quiet time as he has seen screaming kids take over both pools for most of the time he was there.
EXPRESS CHECKOUT made our final moments at the hotel very easy. When offered, you simply call an extension from the hotel room, leave your name and room number, and then your keys inside. You then have the convenience of bypassing the front desk.
I must say, my girlfriend and I were extremely impressed with our stay at Best Western...

I’m not usually the one to complain, but after spending $600 PER ROOM for the weekend—yes, $1,200 total—I feel it’s my civic duty to warn others before they too book a Pinterest dream and walk into a haunted group project.
Let me paint the picture: I booked two rooms for a relaxing weekend escape. One of those rooms was for my very pregnant sister-in-law, who is due any day. She doesn’t even complain when she should, so when she raised an eyebrow, I knew we were in trouble.
Let’s begin with the boldest lie: the hot tub. It wasn’t broken. It wasn’t out of order. It just flat-out never existed. In its place? A mysterious little closed-off area with fake plants and spa towels, as if the idea of a hot tub was supposed to comfort our swollen ankles and broken spirits.
The pools (plural!) were advertised as heated. Cute. We checked the temp, and I’m 90% sure Elsa from Frozen lives there now. “Heated” in the same way Antarctica is “mild.”
Now, breakfast? Decent. Hot food? Yes. Take it to your room? Not unless you travel with your own plastic containers and moral support. Even the yogurt came in a Costco-sized bucket—because nothing says vacation like scooping dairy out of a vat and dodging eye contact with strangers.
Our room had a full fridge, microwave, a dining table, and even dishes. And yes, I will give credit for that. But then I looked up… • Water stains on the ceiling from the bathroom above • Peeling wallpaper like it was trying to escape • Spider webs in the bathroom, because even the spiders checked in • A sofa that didn’t pull out, just existed there like a decorative hostage • And when I asked for extra blankets? DENIED. Like I was trying to steal them to start a black-market linen ring.
And don’t get me started on the overnight front desk clerk, who looked personally offended that I needed new room keys. I didn’t break them on purpose, sis. The hotel did that.
The whole experience felt like a test of patience, not a vacation. Meanwhile, my pregnant sister-in-law just wanted to elevate her feet and breathe in peace. Instead, she got a ceiling leak and a fake spa corner.
Would I stay again? Only if the ceiling gets therapy, the hot tub becomes real, and management offers a refund, a sincere apology, or at the very least, a do-over.
Because for $1,200? I didn’t check into a hotel—I checked into a scam with throw pillows. And...
Read more· The Room was very nice. It had more than we needed. The fireplace was very nice, the layout was efficient, and it was really nice having most of the amenities of home right in one area. The continental breakfast was very surprising and delicious. It had a little bit of everything you'd expect and a little bit more.
· The main reason that we decided to book a room at this hotel was because it had a spa tub in the room. The hot tub and pool were also specific factors in seeking out a hotel but the private spa tub was really why we decided to spend a little extra, travel a little further, and book this room. Upon arrival the hotel could use some sprucing up, but it was nice. The room was great when we walked in, we got settled and went to the pool. We interacted with the gentleman behind the counter again and he definitely put off a unsettling vibe. He made it seem like he often turned his head to shady activities such as underage drinking, even though my partner and I were over the legal drinking age. After our time in the pool and hot tub we decided to go back to our room and enjoy the spa. Upon attempt to turn on the tub, we quickly realized something was wrong. the water pressure of the gets began to increase uncontrollably until it was too uncomfortable to stay in the tub. We quickly leapt out of the tub and tried to turn the jets down, but the water kept spraying more and more. we then drained the water which stopped the water from spraying but did not turn off the jet motor. wanting just to retire at that point, we decided to go to bed. The bed was really comfortable and i would have slept wonderfully if it weren't for the constant drone of the spa tub's jet pump running non stop all night. Upon check out we were never asked about the quality of our stay. When i did mention our tub not functioning properly the woman checking us out dismissed it and said that was weird and she would have someone...
