Been coming here since my oldest child was 2 - he's 22 now. Obviously we like it since we keep coming back ;-)
Yes, it is "middle class" as some other reviewer pointed out. This is not a 5-star resort. The color scheme is purple/red/teal. So, yes, a bit out-of-date. But personally I don't care much about the color of the upholstery fabric or the style of the lamp on the side table. The units are very clean, comfortable, and functional, which is what matters to me. If you want something that is decorated in the most modern trends, look elsewhere. If you want a fully equipped, clean and cozy home environment with easy access to Lake Chelan, swimming pools, boating, mini golf, sports activities, a hot tub, etc. . . this is great.
There is something for every age. My parents are in their 80s and enjoy leisurely walks on the maintained paths and they love the beautiful views. When my kids were very little, the enjoyed the pools, wading in the lake, and playing in the sand. We used to bring kites for them to fly in the numerous grassy areas. As they grew older and became better swimmers, they liked swimming out to the dock, kayaking, and canoeing, and doing the craft activities offered by the kiosk. As teenagers, the swam and played the organized sports games and flirted.
But it isn't perfect. As mentioned earlier, it is dated. Not just in decor, but the entire place is a bit run down. They used to have a floating dock to swim out to, with a ladder and a water slide. Now the is still a dock, but no slide and NO LADDER to help you up. The kiosk staff is unaware and rules separating boating areas from swimmers (which is actually a safety concern!) are ignored. Boat rentals are expensive, and you have to make sure the staff at the kiosk keeps accurate time or you WILL BE OVERCHARGED. Be vigilant about checking your charges at the front desk and you will be ok.
And regarding the complaint that housekeeping never came in 5 days - duh. This isn't a hotel. You are renting a condo for the week. If you have a cup of coffee in the kitchen, housekeeping does not come to wash it for you. You are responsible for putting it in the dishwasher yourself. But they do supply...

Initially we had confirmed with the hotel and company to reserve room 712 which is ADA acceptable as my mother-in-law is physically handicapped, and walks with a doctor prescribed walker, and also a lake view. Upon check-in we were assigned room 666, which was a bad omen. No water view, dated interior, and worse of all had a severely inaccessible entry way. She had to stroll UPHILL on a ramp for about 100 ft then hang a hairpin left turn to go another 100 ft to the unit. Absolutely ridiculous, I went to front desk to speak with the manager. Read moreUpdate: I stayed here last week in a different location close to the clubhouse because the last location was sold out! I called them trying to relocate back but got declined! The couch sofa bed has not much supporting, my friends complained all the way! The furniture and some setting that needed to be upgraded! Maybe they are trying to sell these units! Other than that, no problem checking in and out! I upgraded them to 3 stars! Beware to get extra charge for your vacation! I'm fully dissatisfied during my 2nd visit due to room move issue during this pandemic last June!! I've knocked Four stars down due to their poor front desk & Customer Service!! I still didn't get my refund!
I got charged for an extra night for $243 for not moving to another room the day prior to check-out due to their mis- communication and not to informing & reminding us when we first check-in! I have confirmed with them & asked them the first day when check-in, the receptionist said I'm fine, no need to move but they do have that listed out on a very small fine print on the folio but in a wrong room number!! We didn't get a copy of it!
They also called the wrong phone number & didn't even call the room phone number to follow-up prior to the move the day before but on the day in the late afternoon after we all went out! We've an disable 90' year old person staying inside the room and I'm working virtual all-day long during our stay, no one call the room for the move reminder!
Also, they didn't give us a folio copy but they gave us one after when we check-out and complained to the manager about the extra charge, that is the time we can get the full folio details, and noted that even the room number that we needed to move to is also INVALID and unlisted on their area map!!
