Navarre Coulee Vineyards — Restaurant in Leavenworth

If you are headed to the Lake Chelan area for wine tasting, DO NOT MISS Navarre Coulee!

The tasting room is in Manson, just a few miles up the north shore of Lake Chelan, near a number of other wineries (that are worth visiting if you have time left).

In our opinion, Navarre Coulee is the real gem of the Manson/Chelan area, and gives some of the best Napa wineries a run for their money!

The winemaker (Paul Taylor) has several estate plots (including Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc) and sources grapes from other vineyards in the surrounding area. He also blends, bottles, labels, serves at the tasting room, etc. which means he knows and loves his wines, and loves to taste them with enthusiastic visitors.

He is a master of achieving extraction and structure, without the sky-high alcohol levels that usually accompany big reds. He spares no expense with his oak, and doesn't release wines until he thinks they have reached their maximum barrel benefit, and this can mean 4-5 years of barrel age.

Our favorites from our most recent visit were the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (wow!) and the 2017 Cabernet Franc (double wow!). A close third was his 'Ponder' cuvée containing 4 of the 5 noble grapes of Bordeaux. A few more years of bottle age should result in a wine reminiscent of a top Margaux.

Paul also generously shared two Pinots from the barrel and we will definitely be buyers upon release.

Hopefully I've made my point - this is great wine being created in small amounts by one of the most passionate and skilled winemakers we've ever met.

I recently visited Navarre Coulee Winery, and it was an great experience! Their fire stone pizza is absolutely amazing—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with their outstanding wine selection(Pizza Wednesdays only). Every bite was delicious, and the wine elevated the experience even further. The staff is truly exceptional, providing friendly and knowledgeable service that made us feel right at home. Whether you’re a wine lover or just in the mood for great pizza and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back! Five stars...

Family and I had plans change and we ended up at Navarre Coulee; thank God we did. Paul is the man. An easy going and authentic host. Obviously a great winemaker. This is only the second place in Chelan county where we enjoyed everything we tasted. And, he kept coming over, chatting with us, and hooking us up. We left as happy new bottle club members and we're super excited to come back from some of his releases in the Spring and for pizza Wednesdays. Just come here; trust me....
