Do NOT stay here. For whatever weird reason, this place does not have a live in-person human to check you in at the front desk. Others have written this, but not clearly explained that you actually enter an empty front lobby, call a person (no idea where this person is actually located, but there's a lot of static on the line), walk up and show your face and your license into a camera (so for all you know they are taking screenshots of this), then you have to actually swipe your own credit card, and then take a room key card from a stack of them on the counter and swipe it through a machine while inputting your room number yourself. After all of this, you're told that you need to wait at least 5 minutes for your card to activate. It is NOT 5 minutes of waiting time. We then walked all the way to the other side of the parking lot, for some reason to a completely separate house-like structure vs. the actual motel strip, which I am sure had plenty of vacant rooms, and waited and tried twice to get into the front door of the "house" with our key card. Finally get through the front door, it smells horrible, is dingy, and our key card still doesn't work on the actual room door. After a long day of travel and other activities, and considering the fact that we were checking in after the stated check-in time, it is beyond unreasonable to have to self-service yourself in this way, only to have to wait over 15 minutes to actually get into your room. Did I miss something here, or is the motel/hotel/inn business no longer a hospitality business?? Called the person who is "covering" the front desk, explained that we would not be staying here as they told us 5 minute wait to have key card work and 10 minutes beyond that already unreasonable request, still couldn't access our room. I asked for a refund as we'd be leaving, and was told by the man, Raymond, that it would be processed, just wait a few days. Now several weeks later, still no refund. Will be calling to speak with them directly, but regardless of refund status, will not ever...
Read moreThis was a rest stop on my way to Northern Maine. Dead tired at 9:00 PM and had to stop for the night. The Quality Inn across the street was full so we ended up here. I walked into the office only to see a note to call the number on the phone. I called and could get a room at $188.00 for the night (I later found out it was $88.00 on line). I was too tired to go on so I agreed. Scanned my CC on the machine. The voice on the phone (foreign) then told me to grab a key card and swipe it. I was given a room number and went to get in. The card didn't work for about 5 minutes. Finally got in only to be hit by the odor of stale smoke. The sign on the front said no smoking room but it must have been at some time. The stand between the beds had a big chip out of it. The curtain was held up with a plastic grocery bag. The TV didn't work at all. We locked the door and put a chair in front of it. There was no chain lock but it did have a dead bolt. We settled down for the night. It started to rain outside and I could hear the dripping of water somewhere in the room. We got up the next morning grabbed a shower with the smallest soap I ever saw and headed out. The office was locked so I could not get a receipt. I called the number and had them send one via email. I do not recommend staying here. I noticed the only other people staying here were...
