Got stuck in Leon, IA for 4 days. Thank god we found this little 12 room motel.|Nice clean rooms. I was in room #2. It had a double and a single bed. The room had nice fluffy towels. The shower was redone in the last 2 years so big and spacious and clean.|The lights in the room are bright. 2 light bars mounted on the walls. I like my room cool. Had heat set at 65 but it was too hot had to turn down to 55 just right.|The price was reasonable at $56 per night for a single person.|I am a coffee lover and with coffee available 24/7, I was in heaven. They also have some free breakfast snacks including donuts available.|The have other snacks available for $0.75. |They have a great outdoor grilling area. They have gas, charcoal, and some kind of wood chip grill. We grilled out potatoes, pork chops, and hamburgers|Since I was a single and already had a small table and 2 chairs, I was designated the “Party Room”. The owner was kind enough to lend us a folding card table and 2 chairs.|The only negative thing is the water flow from the shower head. They are on city water and should have a great flow. But the have low flow shower heads. I understand why they have them, but the shower heads have a worse flow than I do living in the country. I talked to the owner about it and she said they were looking at other options. There MUST be a good compromise solution. Some where between low flow and full flow shower heads!|I don’t want to end on a negative note.|This was a great place to stay in Leon, IA||FWI|There is a 24 hour laundry mat with a self serve car wash right next door. It is about 2 miles from the...
Read moreWow, is about all I can say about this motel. My 21-year old daughter, Regan, was driving from Wisconsin back to Kansas State (Manhattan) last week. We were checking the weather often because of the upcoming snow storms and decided she would leave quickly to avoid the snow. Well, she was not too far from Missouri and hit the storm around 12:00am. She called me and we decided it was best for her to find a place and get off the roads. The Little River Inn was about 28 miles away, which took her close to 1.5 hours to drive. Regan made it and checked in for the night. The next morning we called the front desk for her and spoke to Laura about the current driving conditions. She was so helpful and thought she would be okay to hop on 1-35. Then my daughter spoke to Laura herself and felt confident about driving back to Manhattan. Laura also helped her get her car unstuck in the parking lot. Now, the best part. Laura called Regan and left her two voice mail messages to make sure she got back to school. How kind and thoughtful is that? Regan called her back to tell her she made it safely. There are kind people out there, thank you Laura. It is hard as a parent when we can't be there for our kids and your kindness was...
Read moreThe little River Inn is more than meets the eye! If I could give it more stars I most certainly would! For starters everything was so clean and tidy so right off the bat I felt comfortable. There was a Plethora of snacks, drinks and other amenities available in the front office, Some free with the purchase of your room and some for purchase by the honor system, not to mention the fantastic prices. Upon arrival we were greeted in the office by the lovely female owner and she provided us with all the information we needed and then some! I own a small business myself so I know how Important it is to establish good relationships with your customers and provide them with the best service possible. Without a doubt one of the most pleasant people I’ve done business with in a while. The room was organized and provided a microwave, mini fridge, tv with cable, among other amenities. The area is very quiet and the beds are comfortable. The water pressure was a little low for my preference but hey water isn’t free! Over all i would give this place and its owners 10/10 My family and I will most definitely be staying here...
