Very ODD Experience:
I have stayed at probably 18-20 different Sheraton/Marriott brand hotels around the globe, so this one experience won’t ruin my opinions about the brand. However, if this was my first experience, I probably wouldn’t go back.
I had to perform minor plumbing on my toilet multiple times after I flushed. It would go down eventually but then the bowl wouldn’t fill back up. I had to open up the back and mess around with the bob for it to finally start filling up. I’ve never had to do this at a hotel before.
I’ve never had a hard time closing a hotel door before. On 3 different occasions I realized that my door had pushed itself open again after I pushed it close, and one of those times I was out to dinner, so I came back to my door open a few inches. That’s when I tested it out and you could almost slam the door without it clicking in. You had to hold on to it and give it an extra pull at the end to get it to click in.
The room itself was very much aging. Wallpaper coming off the sides. None of the USB ports worked to charge my watch. Luckily I brought an adapter so I could still charge it once I realized that neither port worked. The pillows in the room were incredibly lumpy. I’ve slept on some lumpy pillows before, but never like this. You can visibly see the lumps when just looking at them, let alone putting your head down on them.
The front desk people didn’t ever seem to be at the front desk. For example, when I checked out, I sat there for a couple minutes with my hotel key and no one showed up. I waited another 5 minutes for my uber and no one came, so I just put my key card on the desk and left.
The weirdest of all was the customer service about the shower body wash. When I took my first shower, I realized that there was no body wash in the shower. There was shampoo and conditioner, and a space for body wash to click in, but none there. I wasn’t too concerned about this, but after talking to 3 different people about this on 3 different occasions, they never brought me body wash on my 3-night stay. They tried bringing me extra shampoo and then said they didn’t have any body wash. I asked if they could check another empty room and grab one from there, and they said they’d check, and that was the last I heard from...
Read moreHotel has same policy as just about any hotel regarding cleaning services during covid. However what they don’t mention is u won’t get any towels either except the one that comes in ur room.
I had a double suite and checked in to one set of towels, I requested more but never received them, next morning was told more towels being washed and it will be about 2 hrs before their available. 2 hrs later no one answers for my room, after calling several times I walked down stairs only to be told there’s NO TOWELS in the whole building. From what was told to me “the hotel has a towel shortage and unfortunately they just don’t have any to give me”. I asked if I can get towels from a different room and was told they have already borrowed from disable rooms. I explain I had a meeting and both myself and co worker needed to shower. She only apologized and said she can’t help me. I ended up going to CVS which was right up the street and getting towels which was twice as much for only 3 towels, I had to buy beach towels for dry towels because it was all they had. We eventually showered and left out. The following night I request towels again and was told there was none. I express my disgust and showed her my receipt from my purchase, she said she’s not a manager but will have someone call me and see what they can do about compensation. So now we need towels again and had to drive a little farther this time to a Walmart and get sets of towels to last the remainder of the stay. The following morning after still no towels, I assumed I was talking to a manager so I mention the conversation with the staff member the night before and was told I didn’t see any notes maybe the GM is going to call u. I felt brushed off. I didn’t even make a stink about it anymore I just checked out and left. My disgust comes from I have been a loyal customer there and I even got married in there Kennedy room and used their grand ballroom 11 years ago. The hotel it was then is not the hotel it is now. It’s conveniently located near airport but after ur done purchasing towels,I could have just paid that extra $45 plus dollars to a different establishment that can at least give u the essential needs. Like who uses 1 towel for 3 days and share it with someone else....
Read moreDon't stay at this hotel. Here are three reasons why.
When we walked up to the shuttle, the driver was in his seat ... fully reclined, arms extend, watching a video on his phone. We just kinda stood there for a couple minutes, until he noticed us. It felt like we were about to walk into someone's living room. The driver was texting as he pulled away from the hotel, then continued to text … while driving … on the freeway … with guests in the van … including my 12 year old son. To be clear, it wasn’t a couple short texts … continuous texting. I asked the driver to stop texting. The driver sarcastically repeated my words then fell silent, while he plotted his revenge. In retaliation, he dropped us off at the international terminal instead of terminal 2. He smugly recited the law of the shuttle: “This is the shuttle’s first and last stop. If you wanted to go to a different terminal you should have told the driver when you got in the shuttle.” … Lolz. If you scan through the hotel reviews, you'll see similar comments.
The Mirage (the hotel restaurant) was anything but illusory. The restaurant was, in fact, as crappy as it looked. The Mirage has all the “charms” of a small, underperforming casino, including 60 year’s worth of cigarette smoke (which haunts the carpets and the servers) and rainbow rope lights (which chase along the walls). We ate some of our food, paid for it, then walked to a nearby Subway sandwich shop to finish our dinner.
The hotel wasn’t dirty, but it wasn’t clean. It was good enough. The lobby has been remodeled but the rest of the hotel is very out of date. Towels are paper thin, the shower heads are oddly low, pool too cold, no jacuzzi, you have to manually press the elevator’s close button to close the elevator doors. lolz
To the poor marketing person who will no doubt reply to this google review- I want you to know that I feel your pain. Your boss compelled you to respond … to each and every google review … with pre-approved platitudes … day after day … knowing nothing will change … I see you boo.
Yes the hotel is cheap, yes the hotel is a 10 minutes drive to the airport, but you can definitely find a better hotel for...
