We love Hampton Inn & Suites hotels as they're always pet friendly and we bring our dog on our adventures. This was our third. I want so badly to give 5 stars, however there are 2 things preventing me from doing that and honestly from returning to this hotel altogether.
I wasn't impressed with cleanliness. The floors must never be cleaned. There were so many crumbs and junk on the hallway and elevator floors. There was the same piece of plastic in our hallway the entire 6 day stay, so clearly the floors are never vacuumed. There was also a used washcloth hanging in our bathroom. And the bottom of my son's pj feet were filthy from walking around.
The pool. I don't have words to describe the disgustingness that is the pool. There's a layer of filth along the top of the tiles on the sides that has clearly been there a while as people have drawn and written things in it. There was tons of junk floating around and sitting on the floor of the pool. If I had noticed the state of it before we got in we wouldn't have gotten in. The rest of the hotel looks so nice, I don't understand why the pool is so neglected and old. Previously this may not have mattered to us, but we now have a toddler who absolutely adores swimming. There also used to be a hot tub as you can see the new tiles from where it used to be. They left up all the signage though so we were very confused looking for it at first.
Outside of that, we had no issues. The location was wonderful for both Lincoln and Omaha activities, easy to hop on the highway. Lots of food options around and a Walmart just down the road. All but one of the staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a king suite which was so spacious. I will say, there isn't much drawer space though so bring hangers for your clothes. Breakfast was as expected, nothing impressive but definitely...
Read moreThe man that works the front desk is one of the rudest people I’ve ever come in contact with. |First, I called to modify our reservation a few days before our arrival. He modified it and then when I received my new confirmation email I realized that he had adjusted the dates and they were not correct. I called right back. He then told me that I was going to have to wait. He was outside picking up trash and his shift was about to end and he was really busy. So, I waited. I wasn’t upset at all because I knew it was just a simple mistake but I thought wow, that’s a rude way to speak to a customer. |Then when we were at the hotel trying to check in there was no one at the desk. We waited approximately 20 minutes for someone to come to the desk. Again, I understand staffing issues can be a problem and I wasn’t upset. I just asked to check in. We were with a sports team that some had came the night before. He told me that he wasn’t able to give me an open room because our team had been using the elevator too much and getting complaints. He wanted to give me a room on the same floor as my teammates but none of those were ready yet. He had already told me they had an entire floor of rooms open and ready. We just needed a room, we didn’t care what floor. He ended up giving us an open room thankfully. Then he tells me that if he keeps getting complaints then it’s on me. I explained that we were just arriving and I wasn’t responsible for anything that had happened before. It was the same man that I had spoke to on the phone, as I recognized his voice. There were no thank yous, have a nice stay, or anything. |He was the rudest front desk man I’ve ever come in contact with. If we hadn’t been staying here with my daughter’s team, I would...
Read moreFirst of all let me preface saying we found this Hotel while on our 9 hr of driving from Chicago, headed to Colorado. We didn’t have a reservation booked bc we didn’t know we’d be stopping at 3 am. Triana (I’m so sorry if I misspelled your name love) greeted us and was beyond accommodating. Even though their internet was down and we would only be staying til breakfast she got us a room at an affordable price. Not to mention the hotel is pet friendly. Triana went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, including giving me free tampons, liners, water and offered me midol when I started my cycle unexpectedly. This hotel is immaculate, they keep it very clean. There’s so many amenities, the free breakfast being a big one! The water is hot as soon as you turn it on and they provide ALL toiletries you could possibly need during your stay. I have NEVER had such a positive experience at a hotel. And the beds child? Phewwww they’re made from the tears of god and the pillows made of angel wings, my sleep was heavenly. The mattresses aren’t too firm or too soft, they’re perfect. I cannot say enough nice things about Hampton Inn and Triana as an employee. She deserves a raise, kudos and a management position. She truly cares for her guests and it shows how big her heart is. I feel so thankful to have crossed her path and had such a successful stay. If you’re ever in Lincoln and want a relaxing, peaceful, attentive stay- come to Hampton Inn! Thank you for everything Triana; I wish you all the success in the world. You’re going big places with that golden heart of yours. Thank you a million times for the stay and the rest I got while here. Can’t wait to finish our 6 hr leg of a drive to CO now fully refreshed and...
