I don't like writing negative reviews, but I like being blown off even less.
My wife, son, and I ate breakfast at this Perkins on Sunday, November 19th. The wait wasn't too bad, but on the way to be seated we noticed any tables that didn't have someone sitting at them were dirty. Not a big deal because every business is short on help these days, just off-putting seeing piled up plates and napkins all over. Our table had obviously been wiped off with a dirty rag, because grease and food was smeared around. There were also greasy fingerprints and food particles on the seats. Benefit of the doubt again because we know kids are messy eaters and Perkins is probably short-staffed.
Our server Samuel did a good job. We could have used another refill or two, but he seemed very busy, so no big deal. Our food took quite a while to come out, but that might be due to staffing issues as well. The food tasted good and was worth the price. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the soap dispenser was empty. I also couldn't dry my hands because the batteries in the paper towel dispenser were dead.
The total on our check was roughly $50. The girl that rang us up didn't ask how our experience was, but was clearly still in training so I didn't speak up. That's on me. I paid with a card, and just tapped the 15% tip button. I didn't check the total on the machine, the notification for my Apple Pay, or the text receipt before I left, which was also my fault. But I noticed later that night that I was charged almost $90. The total showed $70 before the tip. We clearly got charged for the wrong ticket. I STILL wasn't upset because things happen and I should have paid better attention.
I called immediately and got the night manager to explain. She took my info and said she would try to figure out what happened, but she would also have the GM call me the next morning (Monday). I didn't get a call Monday OR Tuesday morning. I called Tuesday evening and spoke to a gentleman who said he hadn't heard anything about this situation, but he would also look into it and have the GM (maybe Gaye?), call me the next morning (Wednesday). No call on Wednesday, so I called the restaurant Thursday morning and got no answer. I would have left a message, but that's not an option; the line just goes dead after it rings for a while.
I had no intention of writing a review or escalating these issues at all until I was ignored for four days after calling and talking to two different people. I can't give the benefit of the doubt any more. The $30 overcharge was an accident, but blowing us off repeatedly is...
Read moreI have been looking forward to Perkins coming back to town for a long time. My wife and I went out on a sunny Saturday morning to try it. The place was fairly full, about two-thirds. We were greeted quite swiftly and offered drinks. I only had to wait another five or ten minutes for our order to be taken.
My wife then had noticed a Africa American boy and his father sitting waiting patiently for service. After 45 minutes we lost our patience and had to grab a server, and ask why they still haven't be served? In-between that time the little boy had got up gone to the counter and begged for help since he was hungry. Nothing happened at all. I Finally went and got our sever whom argued with me in a rude manner. She went over regret-tingly and took their order. We still looked over at them after we have finished our meal the and still nothing arrived.
I found this unacceptable and went to the manager and told them what they were doing. I Bought the boy and father some blueberry muffins compliments of ourselves to help cover for this ridiculous wait. I told the manager the issue and still made me pay for the muffins.
It's a shame when another customer has to step in where the management should have.
I sincerely hope this was not racially motivated. They had been waiting at least an hour when we had left. There were at least a five tables around us whom had come in a half hour earlier and were all eating.
Pretty disgusting...
Read moreI went here with my mom and two kids while traveling from Wisconsin back to Colorado. We chose it because it was next to our hotel, but despite the convenience, I'd never go back. (Note: I was a server for 4 years, so I don't take writing bad restaurant reviews lightly.) It took the server at least 10 minutes to come to our table (which is like a year in toddler time, so my kids were quite restless by that point) When the server DID come to our table, literally his first words were, "Do you know what you want to drink?" Not "Hello", not "I'm __", not "How are you?" Nothing. The strawberry crepes weren't good, and they definitely didn't look a thing like they did in the picture on the menu. BOTH the kids' meal pancake orders my kids got were full of uncooked batter in the middle and had to be sent back. The server brought our check, and we put a credit card on it immediately, yet he never dealt with it. Finally, we got tired of waiting and had to bring it to the front. When we got to the front, the cashier asked how everything was, and we told her we did not have a good experience. She completely ignored it. Like, literally did and said NOTHING to make it better. It was like we weren't even talking.
All that said, I'm giving the restaurant two stars because it was clean and appeared well-kept. Everything else though,...
