We had the best time celebrating our wedding anniversary this past weekend at Lake Hawkins with our kids and friends! The cabins are just beautiful and cozy and the minute we opened the door it was BLASTING COLD which was so nice in this heat! The lake was such a fun treat for the kids and the train expo that was 20 minutes away was a hidden gem for my son who LOVES TRAINS! We will definitely be back to celebrate our kids' birthdays in December! Thanks Randi and Andy for your hospitality!

The cabins are really nice. Everything is new and very well decorated. The beds were super comfortable. Felt like a temperpedic or something. You're just nestled in this amazing pine forest across from a gorgeous lake with beaches, fishing and boating. It's really affordable too. The WiFi is great. There were fun games and movies already in the cabin. Kitchen was fully stocked. I highly recommend it ☺️

I’m the photographer who had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful cabins when they were just wrapping up completion! Having lived in Dallas for a couple of years, I was instantly at peace when I opened my car door upon arrival. I grew up near nature and I really missed it. The car door swung open and all I got was clean, fresh air that smelled like pine needles and no traffic noise or any of the other noises you have do deal with in suburbia or a big city. Just the gentle whooshing of the breeze blowing through the huge pine trees around me. I kid you not, just the smell of pine trees and the sound of wind in the trees. That’s it in a nutshell. Amazing. I went from one cabin to the next photographing all of the beautiful details and convenient amenities they thoughtfully included for their guests. The cabins are clean, sturdy, and well-made, nicely-furnished and decorated tastefully, and situated amongst nature and friendly small-town vibes for anyone like me who was desperate to get away from the INSANITY and chaos of the metroplex or anywhere else that can overwhelm someone. Please book a stay at The Hideout, enjoy time with your family at the lake, leave the iPads and smartphones behind but remember to bring a camera and make some memories. Breathe in the fresh air and get some of that amazing red dirt on your boots. You’ll have an amazing time, I...

My family and I recently had the chance to stay in Cabin # 3 at The Hideout this past weekend. What a great hidden gem to Lake Hawkins. The beach access next door is so awesome. It's about a 15 minute walk each way or you can drive. There's a close by food option with tasty burgers and shaved ice, less than 5 minute walk. As for the cabins, every detail has attempted to be thought about and if it hasn't, the owners are always around and eager to help out. I really enjoyed getting up early to have a cup of coffee on the porch and listening to the stillness of the trees.

Their stock pond is in process of being filled and my kids enjoyed their "private playground" as well. The owners are constantly adding new features and we can't wait to come back and visit ! Perfect spot to bring your family or extended family and rent all 5 cabins out to have the place...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hideout. The owner was great as far as communicating before, during and after our stay. The cabin was very cute, comfortable, equipped with everything we needed and super clean. We loved sitting on the deck in the morning or evening listening to the quiet and enjoying an occasional deer, armadillo family and bird sounds. The swim beach across the country road was a delight - very clean and family friendly with clear water. The drive around the lake was lovely and we saw even more deer along with enjoying dinner at Taste of Italy one evening and tiramisu the next evening. Eating on the restaurant deck and watching night fall was so pleasant. Don't miss the Mineola Arboretum! We would definitely...
