The Hangout at Lake Hawkins Restaurant & Pub — Restaurant in Lindale

First time at this establishment. The food was okay. A bit pricey for a burger that wasn't correct to order. The waitress recommended the $15 "The candied bacon burger" that had no bacon!? The jalapenos and mayo were on the burger tho I requested to leave them off. 1) I don't like mayo and 2) I can't eat jalapenos. Either the waitress can't listen or write, or the cook can't read. IDK I don't send food back to be corrected. If they can't get it right the first time, why would I believe they could get it right the second time. The fries were good tho. LOL Who serves warm bottled beer in a bucket to a customer? Warm beer? A tip: Add beer bottles to the bucket, add ice, water and rock salt to chill the warm bottled beer quickly.

Another tip: Buy the bartender some inexpensive rock salt or risk losing another potential returning customer. I'm not a bartender and I know this little trick.

These are probably a couple of reasons why this place only had about ten customers on a Saturday night not including the band.

The Michael O'Neill band was excellent to listen to and was the primary reason we chose to visit.

Don't hate the discerning customer for posting the truth. Step up your food and service...

We've eaten here twice now and absolutely love the food! Server was incredible and gave us great advice on what to order! The atmosphere is awesome as well! The 3rd time we stopped in to eat, we were informed of a cover charge for an event that was happening 2.5 hrs later. We would've gladly paid the cover if we were staying, but had other plans that night. We offered to purchase food to go, but was told we'd still need to pay a cover. Another couple came in at the same time and asked the same thing. We both left and went somewhere else down the road. We spent $72 at the other joint and were home within an hr and half from the time we left here. Point being, if there's a cover, maybe wait to charge it 20-30 mins before it starts, instead of 2.5 hrs before. We will definitely go back, we'll just call before driving out to verify...

We LOVE The Hangout! We are there almost every Friday night and Sundays are becoming a regular visit too. Friday is trivia and music BINGO and it’s a blast with awesome prizes. Sunday brunch is an absolute MUST - waffle burger? Yes please! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming - the food HITS every time and there’s always a variety of entertainment options. Don’t miss The Hangout - it’s like the CHEERS of Hawkins!
