Lake Hawkins RV Park — Local services in Lindale

It had been 3 years since we were last at this rv park. We returned during the post virus-lockdown reopening of Texas. The 3 generations of the family that work around this park, do an amazing job. Very courteous and friendly service! The park area is great with a nice sandy beach, kayak/canoe rentals, boat launch & more. Our RV spot had excellent power supply (50amp). Great park for interesting walks throughout each day that we were there. The crew is adding more rv spots, that looked like they would be ready for rvers within a month of this posting. We dined at a nearby, locally-owned, Italian restaurant. Huge portions and excellent flavor! This rv park is, definitely, a do-over (meaning, we will return). We camped in our 37ft motorhome. Plenty of room for our coach and Jeep. A lot of space between rv spots. I won't mention our favorite rv spot there, because I hope it's available the next...

I leave this 1 star review for one reason...if a site is occupied do not mow around it go to another area and come back to the site when it is vacated. Understand it is a matter of safety and liability, if whoever is mowing damages someone's RV or vehicle the operator and the owner/management is responsible. I have worked for a city parks department for 15+ years and YOU DO NOT MOW IN AN AREA IF IT IS OCCUPIED!!! All it would take is an object thrown through a window or God forbid someone get injured. I don't care if there is a certain day of the week the property is mowed, there is no signage stating that. If a site is occupied...

We had a great time Friday evening til Saturday night, after quiet time started other around us in the tent camping area were not. 2 families came in at 11:30 Saturday night and they let their kids run loose. I ended up going over there and asking them to politely shut up since no one from the front was not coming to take care of it. Then about 2 in the morning some people got into a fight and that lastest about an hour. I paid to be there just like all the others, we followed the rules. Sunday morning was hard to pack up after only getting an hour of sleep. So, unless I have an RV or can rent a cabin I will not tent camp here...
