Our stay at Litchfield Inn CT August 7th - August 11th|My daughter, granddaughter and myself stayed at the Litchfield Inn while on our “Gilmore Girls” vacation. We picked the Litchfield Inn due to the proximity to all of the places we wanted to visit on day trips. I mentioned this at the time of booking and they had a list of places for us to visit when we checked in , a first of many nice touches the Inn offered.|We also received the chocolate chip cookies that all of the reviews mentioned. And yes, they were as delicious as everyone says! |Our room was extremely neat and clean. There was a cot set up for the third person in our group. It was super comfortable ( I can attest because I am the one that used it)and bottles of water, both at no extra cost. They also provide robes and slippers in case anyone forgot theirs. |The next nice touch , was the breakfast ( included at no charge) each morning. There were so many options ( eggs any way, pancakes, yogurt parfaits, toast, bagels, sausage and many more!!! )However, I chose the omelette each day. These were made fresh to order and were delicious!|Also a nice plus, was the tea, coffee, water, soda, chips and cookies that were offered 24 hours a day , again at no cost. |If you were looking to sit outside, there is a patio with two fire pits and plenty of chairs to either sit and relax or get to know the other guests. We did both!!|Further onto the lawn, there were games like corn hole and ladder toss. A pool was supposed to be open by the time of our visit, but delayed until next year. Even further out, there were chairs to just sit quietly and listen to the birds. We took advantage of all of these amenities |Back inside for the evening, we enjoyed sitting in the common area. There were plenty of seats for either groups to gather or you were able to sit quietly. |On the day we were leaving, we were running a little late for the 11 o’clock check out, so we called the front desk and they extended our time until noon. This was also given at no cost. While I am sure that they are not always able to offer this, it was greatly appreciated. |There were a couple of things that I felt should have been mentioned, but neither were enough to make me lower my rating of my stay. |The first being a wedding and reception that took place during our stay. Due to this, the outside amenities were not available ( until the following day) as were the common areas ( this was only for a few hours). Again, not enough to make me not want to recommend the Inn, but I feel this should have been mentioned at time of booking ( or at the very least at check in)|Secondly, the elevator is not in use during night hours. While everyone in our group were able to use the stairs, I feel like this is also something that should be posted. |I would give the Litchfield Inn 5 stars and would definitely stay again...
Read moreMy wife and I could not be more pleased with our entire weekend. A year ago, we began planning our wedding. I wanted a wedding venue with a hotel on site so we could return for anniversaries. We searched lower NY, CT, and even RI and MA, but once we saw the Litchfield Inn, we knew our search was over. We held our wedding there last week and it was more than we dreamed. The Litchfield Inn has amazing rooms, wonderful staff, and generous amenities. Their new renovations of the hotel rooms and common spaces are elevated and sophisticated. All of my guests for the weekend have only had the highest praise for their weekend stay, specifically mentioning the generous breakfast and available snacks, available gym, and comfortability of the hotel rooms. Both the amenities on site and within the surrounding community left none of us wanting for anything. Our stay was true luxury. My wife and I can only imagine for now, but definitively plan to experience the Litchfield Inn in the other seasons.
As far as our wedding specifically, the Litchfield Inn works with David Alan Hospitality Group. The entire planning process could not have been easier. Most would not describe a wedding planning endeavor to be enjoyable through and through, but with DAHG and the Litchfield Inn, it really was. My wife and I could not have been happier, and our weekend could not have gone smoother. To have the hotel capacity allow for us to host our entire family on site and to book the entire hotel for the weekend meant that our elderly family members could easily rest and return as they needed. The hotel's cute little common spaces with books, game tables, and gathering spaces became areas for my wife's and my family to bond and create new friendships. If you're an engaged couple, the Litchfield Inn should be the top of your list for your...
Read moreThe Litchfield Inn is the gem of Litchfield County. My husband and I started staying here last year, since we both love to hike and make our annual day trip more like a weekend retreat! I couldn’t find any hotels in the area (more B&B’s etc.) that were close to Kent and found reviews on The Litchfield Inn. We decided to give it a try and were impressed to say the least!
Close to Litchfield Center full of restaurants and shops, The Litchfield Inn is in a private and quiet location off the main road. Their hospitality is unmatched to today’s standards of hotels and the owners are genuinely wonderful people. Warm chocolate chip cookies are given upon arrival and are available throughout your stay along with snacks, soda and water.
The hotel has charm yet is also modern, with every guest room updated with a different theme highlighting the surrounding area and are incredibly clean! This visit we stayed at the Cloud Nine Suite, decorated in the neutral gray and white tones of the Mohawk Mountains. Lounge seating with an electric fireplace is available in most rooms along with updated walk-in showers.
Breakfast is included with your stay complete with made to order omelettes, pancakes, yogurt and fresh fruit, croissants, bagels, coffee orange juice and more! (Not your typical continental breakfast). There are lounge areas throughout with a small garden and patio with adirondack chairs and firepits.
We highly recommend The Litchfield Inn and we are already looking forward to our next...
