We stumbled upon Litchfield Pizza when touring New England. Don’t be put off by the appearance - it’s a pizza parlor after all, with the fluorescent lights to prove it. But the menu is broad and varied, and the prices are reasonable.
The daily soup was chicken with orzo. It was fabulous - perfectly seasoned, with hand-shredded pieces of chicken and savory broth. My wife ordered ziti with white clam sauce and I had the meatball grinder. She loved her pasta, and she’s really picky. The clams were freshly sautéed and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The grinder was the best I’ve had. The soft roll soaked up the marinara but didn’t fall apart, the meatballs were nicely seasoned but not spicy, and the marinara was delicious.
No beer, wine or liquor sold here, unfortunately. But the food’s good enough to make up for it.
