Make no mistake, this review is favorable. The motel is one of those old, western USA, courtyard motels like used to line Route 66 and others of it's ilk. Now it's on the mend after who knows what it's been like in the interim after the Interstate passed around the town. There's no on-site restaurant, the pool is closed (maybe temporarily as it's January, maybe forever) and it truly doesn't present very well from the curb. But, it's clean, it's got flat-screen tvs, mircowaves, reasonably good-sized rooms, plenty of water pressure including plenty of hot water. It's clean on the inside and best of all it's got Rosie. If Rosie doesn't own the place, she acts like she does. She's a one-woman show, Check-in, concierge, housekeeping and all-around good person. She's got a great personality, a great smile and I was glad to make her acquaintance. When I asked if there was a breakfast snack, she said, "no only coffee. But I have friends who come over every morning and you're welcome to join...
Read moreRosie, the owner is a gem! I've stayed for extended periods of time at the Budget Motel in Lordsburg and have always enjoyed the motel. It is really reasonable, Rosie keeps the place very clean. She's renovating all of the rooms one at a time and I think at this time she is about half way finished. She has a unique design sense that is honestly very sweet. She is a kind person who loves her work, she never stops and who will treat you like royalty. There is free coffee every morning in the main office where you can meet the local ranchers who come daily to share a bit of joe with Rosie. Very home town and lots of fun to listen into the conversations. You can certainly spend more and get more amenities at the chains down the road but the value at the Budget makes staying there...
Read moreI arrived in Lordsburg at about 10:30 on a Tuesday night and decided to give a small local hotel a shot as I usually do in small towns. Within 2 minutes of going into the door of my room i knew I wasn't staying here. The Wi-fi they advertised was down, no biggie. But the bugs on the bed, in the bathroom, and on the curtains were too much. I told the lobby staff that the room was not to my liking and they first offered a refund then stated they couldn't figure out how to issue a refund and got irate and stated that my credit company would have to deal with it. NOT GOOD PEOPLE. Basically intimidated me into leaving with no refund or promise of a resolution. For $20 more I got a great room at the Days Inn w/ wi-fi, no bugs, and breakfast. Too bad the locals missed out on...
