My family of 3 stayed 2 nights at this former Ramada Inn which is rated 2-1/2 stars. Unfortunately the remodelling is not complete, so I would rate it at 2 stars in its current state. The continental breakfast definitely fits a 2 star category. Here are my comments -- positive comments first, then negative.||||The Positives:||(1) The beds are extremely comfortable, and actually have comforters. I do not like bedspreads in a hotel or beds that only have a sheet and blanket. These comforters were nice. (2) The room was very clean and the amenities were nice. (3) Although on a busy street and in an active neighborhood, the hotel was quiet. (4) The continental breakfast has better coffee than we have had at other hotels with similar ratings.||||The Negatives:||(1) We checked in late on a Friday night and were very thirsty after our long trip. The first thing that went wrong was the ice machine was not working and there was no ice. The on-site manager did not resolve the problem when we reported it and said that the ice was probably out and that he would get back to us. He neve got back to us, and there was no ice the next morning. (2) We were not able to log onto wifi because there is a step in the process that we were not told about (after choosing the Canogahotel wifi, you need to actually click on a website in order for the wifi to connect). (3) The third thing was that our air conditioner had a very loud rattle in it, which was disruptive. I reported it the next day and was told that the hotel is waiting for business to slow down before the new air conditioning units, which are on site, will be installed. Because of this, the unit in our room was not looked at and fixed when we put in a maintenance request. We had to deal with the rattle the next night. (4) The continental breakfast is ok if a high carb breakfast is what you are looking for. The breakfast room is small, and during high volume times, people were eating on the curb outside the lobby. Perhaps some tables and chairs could be put outside for additional seating. Although the continental breakfast is included in the price, we prefer to eat at Nat's West on Topanga Canyon Road where high protein is their signature.||||I would probably not stay at this location in the future, but would instead try the remodelled Motel 6 next door (which also has a pool) if I am looking for a 2 star hotel in this area. If a true 2-1/2 star hotel is what I am looking for, I would probably stay at the Holiday Inn Express and pay a...
Read moreI don’t know how some people experience positive. This is worst fraud hotel I have ever seen especially handing customer service and payment side and everything. I will try to explain my experience in 2 parts: • During Check-in/Hotel Stay If you try to check-in early, they ask you to pay $25-$50 for early check-in but if they don’t give you hotel room even after 3PM, they don’t compensate. In my case, they didn’t let us check-in until 4:45pm and then after check-in, the room was full of dirty. We were kicked out until 7pm for cleaning. We had an appointment at 5pm and we failed to attend because of all these disgusting hotel tragedy. There were not enough bath towels and soups in the bathroom until 9:30pm and had to rush to the helpdesk. Please note that the entire time, nobody apologize or tried to help. They just ignore and continue their own nonsense stuff and make you delay. • After hotel checkout - Beware of your credit details and initial deposits.
Please make sure to execute these steps: If you give your credit card for hold deposit during check-in, it is gone. They keep charging no matter if you prepaid hotel bill or if you pay cash. They never return your money or give assurance. All they tell is they will inform their manager ‘Neil’ about it. Who cares about manager and guest wants money back that they charged illegally. You need to buy credit-monitoring service for at least until the credit card expiry date and you change your address. There are instances that they will charge even after 6 months/after year randomly (if you check other reviews you can realize). Inform/Register all credit burro that you shared the credit card/driving license to this hotel. If there is any credit service discrepancy, department of Policy criminal investigation, Canoga Park, CA will take care of this hotel employees, managers and former employees under criminal cases. They will put all culprits behind the bar. If you experience the same after your visit, please share your experience and continue positing other hotel websites to make sure public is aware. If you are yet to plan for a hotel book, stay far from this hotel or else you will be trapped. BEWARE...
Read moreYou could call me a business traveler because I have been able to stay at 3 different hotels in the past 3 nights. As COVID-19 “ends” in California, I seem to see a lot of hotels be able to present a clean for side but not realize that the heavyset of hair from different stays has accumulated in hard to reach corners and have become a germaphobic nightmare ..tiny provable examples of bugs and parasites showing, or even their post-fumigated molted / graveyards are super scary to see, especially in the past 3 different hotels I’ve been at all in the same price range around Woodland Hills (this one, starlight inn, and hotel 6, in order of least gross to most gross being the 6.) I believe all hotels right now should be very diligent in spending the few hours they have to isolate and clean/wipe down what corner should be noticed and checked as well as continue to give a small amount of new attention to the fact that at the moment if you are to live off of hotels and motels you might just as well book a dermatology appointment when you get back home from whatever reason you ended up like me, professional bed bug/dust mite spotter..This is the first of the three hotels I felt safe in. IT WAS A SUPER CLEAN EXPERIENCE !!! VERY HYGIENIC AND NEW AND CLEAN , But that can be ironically rlly scary in its own right, because at the end, all 3 hotels are existent after my stay, and continue to have residents day after day even after my complaints they prosper, so, how do I know just because of the new look and clean facade this new age hybrid hotel/motel has, it is not just as bug ridden as the motel 6 I (sadly) stayed at, which sits directly shoulder to shoulder with the Canoga Hotel. My final summation: Wonderful place to stay esp for the price. But all of LA’s lower priced hotels need encouragement for the essential cleaners to look for things that honestly I myself wouldn’t not bend my back looking for! I might be picky but this place...
