I really enjoy their in-house tortillas, unlike other brands these hold up very well for making at home taquitos or regular soft tacos. I always make the trip to get my tortillas here vs the super market. There soups are really good too, especially on rainy days. I was ok on with their holiday selection tamales, they were definitely interesting flavors. My husband love the tortas here, they are full of flavor. Cost is a little more on the pricier side. New: Thank you Gallo Giro for displaying my beautiful Mother Mary... More mexican places should follow this!!! I will forever be a customer at EGG..

I'm obsessed with El Gallo Giro! I stopped by for a late-night snack and was blown away by their deal - 3 birotes or bolillos for just $1! I thought it was too good to be true, but nope, it's a reality! The food and tortas are absolutely delicious, and the service from the girls is top-notch. They were friendly, attentive, and even offered me a free agua fresca minutes before closing time. Talk about going above and beyond! If you're looking for a tasty and affordable meal, look no further than El Gallo Giro. I'll be back for sure!" 5/5 stars!

I had purchased a catered meal with this location a week ago to cater my Christmas Eve party. To my wildest surprised found later on Christmas Eve that the tortillas had mold in them. 🤮 Not just one but in 3 different areas. Never again will I eat here and most definitely not ok with this situation and hope to hear back from someone with a refund of sorts. Because sadly my guest and I are this without paying attention and now I'm afraid they may have food poisoning.

Incredibile Pozole. In 30 years of traveling Mexico from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua in the north to Ciudad Hidalgo in Chiapas, I have never had a bowl of Pozole Rojo as good the one I had today at Gallo Giro in Canoga Park.

The restaurant is known for its various baked goods and today the Roscas are selling as it is the Day of the Magi. But is is really an undiscovered gem Pozole is concerned. I was assured by the Manager, it is a company recipe.

But back to the Pozole. From it's beautiful fatty sheen and deep red color-almost crimson broth-- to it's on the spot seasoning, this heavenly concoction must be lauded and celebrated. They nailed it. They really did. I have visited Quiroga, Michoacán (the supposed birthplace of carnitas and Pozole). I have been to Guadalajara, Jalisco where they, too, make claims of excellence when it comes to this hot and spicy elixir of the mesoamerican ancestors. To be fair, they are standouts but this unpretentious strip mall joint that is just one more addition to the growing Gallo Giro chain has the goods--in spades.

While ry review is limited to this location and the Pozole herein, I would venture to say that all would fare well since it's care in quality was one thing Javier, the gentleman in charge at the Canoga Park location assured me about.

One last thing, my very positive experience with the food and patience with Javier was augmented by the care and the sweet and professional demeanor of the young lady behind the counter-Nora. To her, Javier, and Gallo Giro, my tummy owes a debt of gratitude for an excellent meal and a very positive dining experience.

To the fair reader of this review, skepticism is always a good thing. Don't take my word for it. Visit and order the Pozole. Specially on a brisk, rainy or blustery day when the desire for spice and hearty warmth in the belly is the...

Called in for three tacos for takeout. I was told over the phone max fifteen minutes. After I arrived 20 minutes later go inside and the older blonde lady at the register just then puts in my order after I paid. Doesn’t give me an estimate of how much longer. I waited patiently ..

As I wait they decide to help an employee on her way out to make her a handpicked sandwich which took forever. Once she leaves then they proceeded to make my order keep in mind over 40 minutes at this point have gone by.

Finally my food is ready and unfortunately completely wrong and not what I ordered. I did notice the employees not paying attention while laughing amongst themselves I knew my order was going to be wrong. I was right and got a refund.

Save your self time and an unpleasant experience. Their food is definitely not worth all that trouble. So many better Mexican places to go to!...

I was pretty hungry from a long day of commuting and I came across this place called El Gallo Giro In Canoga Park on De Soto and Sherman Way. It looks so good with bread baking in the window and Fresh meat roasting and it was just a combination of all the best things I like to eat in life in one big seductive.whooosh!!! So the beautiful girl at the front counter suggested that I try the Carnitas torta and boy is this thing is fresh delicious crispy and Sabroso as I ever could’ve dreamt of. I got the Horchata Mamiey Fresca To drink which is so delicious and sweet and light it’s almost like a milkshake but better. I’m gonna put this at the top of my list of things to do when in the Canoga Park Woodland Hills...
