My wife Jan and I discovered the wonderful, relaxing Sarabande B&B on a cross-country trip to California in November during the height of the COVID pandemic. We booked our room based in part on the very favorable reviews we read online and its location only a day’s drive from our destination. We could not have made a better choice! The night before our arrival in Albuquerque, we had turned down our reserved room in Oklahoma at a well known national hotel chain because of its very poor precautions against the virus (we are in our 70s), forcing us to find other accommodations late in the evening. Our arrival at Sarabande was much different. Although we arrived after dark, we were greeted by Amy at the front gate, who escorted us to our beautifully appointed suite and briefed us on the thoughtful changes Sarabande had made for the pandemic. Our accommodations were exactly as advertised, and the East Room suite with its thermostat controlled fireplace was a very welcome bonus during late fall temperatures. Among the many superlative features of Sarabande are its simple charm, its very restful and quiet ambiance, and especially the reserved but efficient and friendly service provided by its on-premises managers, Amy and Jon. Just one of their many gestures was presenting us with two superb breakfast burritos to-go with cups of hot coffee just as we were leaving at sunrise, well before scheduled breakfast service. We were so impressed that we booked the room for two nights on our return from California, just so we could experience a full day at this first class B&B, to include Jon’s special breakfast. Needless to say, we are looking forward to our next trip to California to experience once again the many charms of this beautiful, relaxing B&B just two miles away from old Route 66. Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy breakfast in the stylish and well-appointed dining room that was unfortunately unavailable during the pandemic.

Read moreWe were on day 2 of our 5 day cross country trip. After almost 10 hours on the road we pulled up and were greeted by the owner. He gave us a tour of the grounds and the rooms. We were allowed to use the grill, and after such a long time on the road that was a welcome convenience! My wife was very excited about using the "Jacuzzi style tub in the room, afterwards she said what a relaxing experience it was. Another plus, our dog was welcome and able to roam the patio area instead of staying penned up in the room. We were asked what time we would like breakfast the next day and what we would like to eat. The owner did no flinch when I said we would be leaving around 0700, and everything was ready to eat at 0600 the next morning. There was fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs made to order, bacon, and several different kinds of yogurts (with assorted toppings).
The entire stay completely relaxed us in every way and made the next days journey much easier.
If you are ever in Albuquerque, and want to stay at an excellent and relaxing B&B, Sarabande is the place to stay!!!!

Read moreMy husband and I delighted in everything about this beautiful space, the flavorful breakfasts, and the friendly management. Sarabande B&B has a serene ambiance and is a very short distance to top-rated restaurants, shopping, and other points of interest. The room looked posh and the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies given upon arrival were a great touch. However, I'd say what sets this place apart is the personalized, consistent service across the board. The rooms and public sitting areas were immaculately clean, functional, and inviting. Upon learning about our plans to wake up before sunrise for an air balloon ride, Amy ensured there was coffee ready. When my husband and I had questions about where to eat on the days many Albuquerque restaurants are closed, Jon and Amy took time to provide their own great recommendations. We could tell that Nancy, Amy, and Jon took pride in the kind of experience they curate for their guests. I've stayed in 100+ hotels and B&Bs and the Sarabande is now in my top 5%. My husband and I cannot wait to return....
