Let me start by saying I wanted to love Casa Rondena so much! It's a beautiful place and has nice wine. Unfortunately they have the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced - from the ownership down. I moved here from Boston a year ago and immediately joined the 1629 club at Casa Rondena, hoping to have a great place to bring out of town guests and meet new friends in my new town. Unfortunately, right from the start, being a member at Casa Rondena was nothing but stress and frustration. In my second month of membership, I brought my family there to relax over some wine on the 1639 club patio. There was another table of 3 men on the patio and one of them got up and yelled at me that I didn't belong there. I offered him my club membership card and he very rudely told me I had to leave. It turns out that was the owner, John. Now is that how anyone would treat any customer, especially someone who pays a monthly membership to be part of your club? I did receive an "apology" email a few days later, so I decided to give the place another chance.

My final straw was bringing my mom to the club for her birthday dinner a couple weeks ago, which was also the same night as a St Patrick's Day event. The doorman for the event was extremely rude and accused me of sneaking in and told me I couldn't leave the event to have dinner in their club. I explained that I had emailed ahead of time to make sure this was possible and he told me "go ahead, you'll just do what you want anyways". When we finally ordered dinner it took forever to get our food, the pizzas were good, but very small. We told our server we would want to order more, but when we tried to order more they told us that there was another large party there and they couldn't handle it so we wouldn't be getting served anymore. My father tried to talk to them to see what he could do and our server yelled at him that we should have seen that they don't take orders after 7:45pm. No one had told us this, and for the record, the menu says 7:50, and it wasn't that time yet.

I called and emailed Casa Rondena telling them about my most recent poor experience there. I let them know that I wanted to cancel my membership due to all of the continued problems, but wanted to give them the opportunity to respond first and work out a resolution. Its been 10 days and I still haven't heard from them. Members and Customers clearly aren't valued here at all. I really wanted to love this place, and I can't communicate how fully disappointed I am. They obviously don't care about basic customer service, and the culture of the employees there is that nothing will change and management doesn't care. I don't plan on ever going back there again. There are plenty of other wineries in New Mexico and plenty of other places that provide exceptional service. Don't waste your money here, and definitely don't become a member at Casa Rondena - this place and its horrible business practices needs a complete overhaul. I will be cross-posting this review on...

Casa Rondeña Winery is a beautiful hidden gem. We adore this place and have been 1629 Club members for several years. I felt compelled to take the time to write a review after a truly wonderful experience with an exceptional team of people.

My husband and I recently rented the 1629 Club for our real estate & property management company holiday party, and I was extremely impressed with how everything turned out! Ansel is a breath of fresh air at Casa Rondeña. He was especially impressive in his communication with me throughout the entire planning process and was very accommodating with any requests I had. I trusted him right away and I felt confident that he would make sure our event went smoothly. His professionalism, confidence, kindness, prompt responses, and overall personality, made the event planning process easy-breezy. Ansel went above and beyond. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so it was truly a joy knowing that I didn’t have to worry about anything and I was simply able to enjoy the party. I’m sincerely impressed, and I hope Ansel is part of the Casa Rondeña team for many years to come.

Michelle and Ansel were our servers at the event and they did a wonderful job accommodating all of our guests. Our party consisted of 25 adults and 7 children. They helped us create a kids area with special meals and warm cocoa so that the adults could enjoy. Michelle & Ansel did an excellent job decorating our table and space- it was very tasteful and festive. They cheerfully greeted our guests, took their coats, and offered wine promptly. There’s wasn’t a moment of inattentiveness. Overall, the service was top-notch!

The food was nothing short of outstanding!!! Head Chef Jerome and Sous Chef Derek prepared beautiful, grass-fed fillets sous-vide, scrumptious prawns, and tasty mashed potatoes for our entrees. The fillet was one of the best I’ve ever had- so tender, flavorful, and the perfect temperature! Wow, just wow! Our entire party was so impressed! Several of our guests told me that it was the best cut of meat they’ve ever had, and I whole-heartedly agree! The chefs also prepared fresh, beautiful winter salads for us, and lovely apple turnovers with perfectly creamy house-made ice cream. Everything was so delicious and the timing of all the food was impeccable! These guys know what they’re doing.

I would also like to add that the wine at Casa Rondeña is superb right now. We’ve been members for about 7 years and the most recent releases are exceptional. The Cabernet Franc is absolutely perfect!

This amazing team of people have truly made us feel valued as members....

I did not eat or drink at Casa Rondena, instead, rented the facility for my daughters Quinceanera pictures. I had seen pictures from another Quince that had barrels in the background and I thought it would be a beautiful place to take pictures. I called a month in advance and asked information regarding purchasing a permit because I wanted to be prepared. I called again two weeks ago to ensure the date was okay and if there was anything we or the photographer needed to know and at that time I was told other than customers might be present for dinner and drinks that there were no restrictions and the fee was $250. During the shoot I asked if they could show us to the barrels and was told it was only allowed for weddings that take place there. I explained this was not told to me when I called and I was told I should have asked for that specifically when I called even though I asked if there were any restrictions. I was told they "didn't know where the keys were anyway" and they "couldn't give me access even if they wanted to". I was refunded $50 for the "inconvenience" and was given access to a balcony for more pictures. If I would have been given the information in advance I may not have chosen another location but if I would have know how I was going to be treated I definitely would have gone elsewhere. They lady I spoke to made me feel like it was my fault that I didn't ask specifically for the barrel background and she didn't apologize once and even went as far to say we were not on the schedule even though when we walked in another worker said "you must be the quinceanera scheduled today". I am a reasonable person I know stuff happens but instead of treating me with respect and a paying customer I was made to feel like the ignorant customer that paid $200 and I should have been thankful for that. I own 3 businesses and I will tell everyone I know not to go to Casa Rodena, and not because they have bad wine or food but because they don't know how to treat customers. Our photographer also knows now not to ever recommend taking pictures at this location and is able to share this with other...

If you think of Albuquerque as an arid city carved out of the high desert, you will be amazed when you turn into the gates of Casa Rondena, which is an oasis at the western edge of town. Although the name is Spanish, you'll think you were magically transported to the Tuscan countryside. If I didn't know better, I would place the photos in Chianti, not The Duke City. Row upon row of grape vines lead to several villas serving as a tasting room with a belly-up-to counter and a zillion wine glasses, an old-world Tuscan (or Spanish) style wood-beamed dining room where you can sit and relax as you taste your wine selections, and a small marketplace with CR swag. Outside the rear door of the dining room is a portal with tables for tasting in the shade. Beyond that are tables by the idyllic pond, which is crossed by a miniature aqueduct and surrounded by green grass. We are told another building beyond the pond is a restaurant for members only. But if you are not a member and want a nosh with your wine, the tasting room offers a good selection of refrigerated charcuterie, cheeses and cheese plates, and crackers. I'm sure this beautiful place is a popular venue for weddings of any size. As for the wine, throw away any misconceptions you may have about New Mexico wines. We like several of the selections and have stocked them in our wine room. We especially like the flagship 1629 (a meritage of Tempranillo, Syrah, and Cab Sauv), which was named to commemorate the year in which grape vines were first planted by the Spanish in what would eventually become New Mexico, which, by the way, was about 150 years before the American Revolution. There’s a lot of history here. We like the Port too.

It's a fine time for wine at Casa Rondeña. This place was the apple of my eye, and one of many girl-adventures planned. Autumn season is wrapping up and the temperatures fluctuate. This didnt stop us from enjoying a leisurely time at this beautiful winery. Visitors can order by the bottle or have flights (highly recommended to try many varieties.) For pairing along with your liquid fruit, you can bring your own picnic basket of goodies or purchase charcuterie ingredients from them. There are tables near the vineyard to celebrate life... first come, first serve. Parking is available for free, but it's on a gravel road - watch your heels. Do enjoy some captures of the vineyard.

We knew it was going to be a relaxed atmosphere. But warning, do not go if you are hungry. It took 3hrs to complete our meal. The food is not great. I have eaten at many high end restaurants. This food is lacking. The hen had no flavor or spices, the cod dish tasted fishy and was rubbery over cooked. We thought well the cheese cake will be good. No, it was like a pill of cooked cheese curbs with whip cream and sour berry purée. No sweetness. The cheese selection for our appetizer was good and the staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was amazing, just wish it took less time to get our food, which came out separately, and I wish the wait would have been worth it.
