As the architect for these cabins, I may be partial. But from my earliest conversations with Patrick and McCabe, I could tell they understood what would set their cabins apart from others and that they would be excellent hosts.
I recently had my first opportunity to stay for a long weekend at one of the cabins with a group of six family and friends. The large entryway, pantry, and built-in benches provided plenty of room for our gear. And we all enjoyed the open layout of the kitchen, living room, and dining room, which was perfect for large groups and family-style meals. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals while hanging out together, and the cupboard was stocked with games. The high-speed Wi-Fi was a big plus, allowing me to work remotely and the teenagers to share some online games with us, making for fun and memorable evenings.
I could wake up early to enjoy the peace and quiet while others slept in. Comfy seating, heated floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows providing panoramic views of the forest were the perfect setting for drinking my morning coffee and watching the sunlight move across the room before we all headed out for the day. After a few long days on the slopes, the sauna was the perfect place for us all to unwind and rejuvenate.

Read moreThis place was an absolute stunner! The modern aesthetic and high quality details were so beautifully balanced throughout the cabin and sauna. The living spaces were bright and open, yet cozy and thoughtful. The bedroom layouts lend themselves well to a variety of guest's needs. We rented our cabin for a girl's getaway but I cannot wait to come back with the whole family...it's just so versatile and inviting.
The modern kitchen had everything we needed for cooking up a storm and the bathrooms are GORGEOUS! The fireplace was such a vibe...especially with the snowy winter scene right outside. And I have to mention the floor to ceiling windows, offering the BEST views....what a great design!
This location is prime! You can walk right out the front door and begin a long wilderness hike. Or grab your skis and head up the road to Lutsen Mountain. And Lake Superior is just a few short minutes away...so many options for exploring the North Shore.
The sauna...what a special touch. To have your very own private sauna, connected to your cabin...genius! The attention to detail and pride of craftsmanship in this resort shines through...it's such a gem! And to top it off, the hosts were gracious, very responsive and just so lovely! What a wonderful addition to the Lutsen area. We cannot wait...
Read moreMy wife and I booked the Ski Hill Cabins and Sauna for a weekend of skiing with our daughters after discovering them on Instagram. Let me tell you—these stunning accommodations live up to the hype!
First off, the location is amazing. You’re just a two-minute drive from Lutsen Mountain, yet tucked away in the forest, creating a private and peaceful retreat. Even better, you’re also just two minutes from the North Shore Winery—epic!
The cabins themselves are spacious, architecturally beautiful, and well-appointed. The common areas are perfect for families, friend groups, or any crew heading to the slopes. We loved coming back after a full day of skiing and jumping into the sauna—that alone is a game changer! But if that weren’t enough, the heated floors and snow grates at both entrances? Seriously, next-level!
Patrick and McCabe have thought of everything. The finishes have a local vibe with a Scandinavian flair, and you can tell they truly understand hospitality. The cabin provides everything—from high-quality linens to furniture so nice we Google Lens-ed it to buy for our own home! They even have board games above the fridge.
Before we left, we were already planning our next trip back....
