I stay in the Bismarck Mandan area 4+ times a year so I was excited that Days Inn finally opened. I paid for my room via 3rd party (Hotwire) while i was at the hospital with my mom to make sure i had a place to stay. When i checked in, the desk person ran my card for incidentals. I was notified by my bank via text that i was charged. I stopped and asked the front desk person and the Manager Kristin why i was charged because I had paid. I was told it was not a charge, just authorized in case I trash the room. At check out, the Manager reiterated my card was not charged only authorized and printed me a receipt (Not Standard Practice. Acting like she was doing me a favor but it took over 15 minutes.) I should have gone to the Comfort Inn especially since I've paid the same amount. I called for a refund on June 27. My first calls were answered by someone with a heavy India accent who hung up on me. When i calked back, same person answered but gave rhe phone to Kristin, who was there at the original check in, said she was besieged and took my number (which she had already) saying she was going to put me on hold, then she was going to call me right back. She didn't call.
She's not refusing outright to give me a refund, just comical the lengths she's going to avoid to issue the refund. Good for a sitcom. Bad if you're in town to see a parent in the hospital.
Also: Dark, potholed parking lot. Sign on the back entrance door to the hotel stating "Park at your own risk." Loud arguments going on in rooms that are audible at the other end of the hall. Bar/Lounge is very loud. At breakfast, long term stay customer was upset short term stay couple sat in his spot in the breakfast room. Says vending is available but only has Coke products, no food. Says there's a cafe, it was not open during my stay. It is about as creepy as the Baymont...
Read moreWorst experience I think I’ve ever encountered. I came in here with a reservation and the lady who was “working” at the front desk greeted me by looking at me with the meanest look, then my dog, then pointed to a sign that said “no dogs allowed”. I approached her as I got closer and she just stared at me so I initiated the conversation by saying I have a reservation, to which she responded saying I can’t have my dog. I told her she is a service animal and she told me to show her proof. While I was looking for her paperwork she asked me if she goes everywhere with me, and I said yes for the most part. THEN she asked me if I would take my dog to the bar?????? I said in confusion, “uhm no I wouldn’t take my dog to a bar if I ever go to one”, and she then said well we have a bar and told me my dog isn’t a service animal. She wouldn’t let me check in and refused to give me her name and the information to contact the manager. This is ILLEGAL to deny service to someone with a service animal. I will be looking into legal action and if the manager is seeing this, please reach out to me asap. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had and I had to walk across the street to a different hotel, which btw, told me that they’ve had multiple people switch hotels due to awful service as well. Please don’t waste your time...
Read moreStayed a little over a week ago. Over priced for a mediocre room, not to mention the manager was beyond rude. Spent some time in the bar, over heard staff talking about how the front desk staff are required to turn away anyone who wants a room if they "look poor" because they are probably criminals. Absolutely abhorrent.
And what kind of hotel doesn't offer free Wi-Fi?
And the bar is FILTHY. But the bartenders too busy ignoring everyone but the 3 people she wants to talk to, to serve anyone else in here, or clean anything.
Disappointing experience overall
Also I think it's a little suspicious how reading through the reviews every time there's a negative review there's a flood of very similarly phrased five-star views to follow, and looking at the last name on one of the reviews compared to the last name of the owner listed in all of the responses to reviews It looks like he's got his family members leaving a five-star reviews to combat the negative reviews and push them down further so people...
