Brenda's Dream B&B — Hotel in Marion

I stay here two nights per week. I've tried all the airbnb's in the whole area, neighboring towns included. This is the only one that doesn't make me sick. She keeps the climate controlled year round so there's no mold growing, and has all bedbug proof super comfy expensive foam beds. The rooms are always super clean and so charming. She accommodates my request to not use any fragrances, including when washing the linens.

I love sitting around chatting in the parlor, and hanging out with the host in the amazing kitchen! Sometimes I enjoy the basic breakfast options, of bacon and eggs, or pancakes or biscuits and gravy, or fruit and yogurt. But I especially like that she gives me what I asked for, a couple of hard-boiled eggs, a peeled cucumber and an orange to go. She offers a brown sack breakfast sandwich, but I like to be able to eat when I want to while I'm on the road. It's hard not to feel spoiled at Brenda's Dream.

I prefer to stay in the main house with the host and share the upstairs bath with another room. I make regular use of the claw foot bath tub. But, the carriage house with the beautiful private rooms with private baths, and shared kitchenette, cold continental breakfast, I understand why they're more popular with today's independent travelers who like super quiet.

I like the small town downtown feel, with the huge lot, ample parking, and the riverfront with trees that makes it feel country. I like the garden fresh veggies from the yard, too! And beautiful flowers and plenty of patio sitting options, including front and back porch, and...

Beautiful rooms at an excellent price. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Modern amenities but rooms filled with high quality beautiful antiques. Loved all the decorations.
