This Executive Inn & Suites turned out to be a bad disappointment. The outside of the building was nice, seemed like a decent place. We walked in and I wasn't sure the motel was even open. There was nothing on the walls in the lobby, not even behind the desk. No ads, no signs or pictures, nothing. We rang a bell and a woman came and checked us in. We had booked one room with a king size bed and a kitchenette online. Getting off the elevator we were hit with a musty smell immediately. We went to our room, this is what we found.- Not a king size bed but two queens. No kitchenette. The room smelled like wet mold. The floor was dirty as if someone had eaten fried chicken and let crumbs fall. The bathroom floor was sticky! The bed had a long black hair next to the pillow. The curtain was ripped and wouldn't close. The chair was dirty with powder spots? And a used toothpick on the seat. I went to ask for another room and there was man there this time. I explained to him the situation. He explained to me that he had no good workers and had just fired the night person. He was running everything himself including maintenence. He gave me another room. In the hall going to this room the electric outlets were exposed, the carpet was dirty and there was a dirty bandage outside the room door. Gross! The second room was cleaner. Still two queens, not such a big deal at this point. But the room still smelled bad. It was late and there were no other places near by so we stayed the night. Other notes- there was a small area off the lobby where maybe a breakfast would have been, it had wood and broken tiles on the floor. The shelf in the lobby that maybe had coffee at one time had sugar, cups and napkins... nothing else. The lobby bathroom was out of order. It was a cheap room so I didn't expect a whole lot. But this place was dirty and smelled bad. The rooms were humid and the A/C could barely cool the room. Not what I would expect from and Executive Inn & Suites. Had the feeling of a dirty by the hour "no tell" motel. I do not recommend and would never go there again. Very disappointing. 1 star rating is a compliment!

I really wish I could give this place a negative star review because they don’t even deserve one star. I’m normally a very reasonable person. This was really really bad though. I booked the “King and Queen Suite With Kitchen” online directly through their website about a month in advance. Upon arrival (after a very long drive), they sent my family to room 314. This room has ONE bed and a couch which does NOT pull out into a bed. I have kids and a husband. There is no way this is going to work. Nor is it what I booked and paid for. To top it off, it is super dirty with fingernails, pieces of soda cans, bandaids, crumbs, etc all over the floor. It gets worse. Front desk offers me to TAKE SOMEONE ELSE’S RESERVATION who hasn’t arrived yet in a room with two queen beds. That’s the best they can do. It’s after midnight so we decided to ask for 2 rollaway beds and a vacuum to try to make our room work. I’m not going to take someone else’s room out from under them. The first vacuum I was given only had one prong on the plug which I didn’t realize until I tried plugging it in. So I go back downstairs for the third time and get a different one. The second one also doesn’t work and has water or some liquid inside it we can see bubbling up. There’s also a very large clog preventing it from sucking anything up. So no go on getting the floors somewhat picked up. Next, the rollaways were filthy. We flipped the mattresses to make it a little better and then I put the “brand new clean sheets” on them. Stains everywhere and definitely not clean. Then we go to pull the sheets down on the one bed in the room. So disgustingly dirty. The bathroom is filthy. The microwave is filthy. Nothing about this place is clean and there’s no availability except one room an hour away for $499. We are STUCK in this hell hole.

I know that Marlin isn't known for having really nice hotels, but I was looking around trying to find the best one and this one had the best reviews and the pictures looked good. When I got there to get a room to check in people were nice. It was a guy and he let me know how much it was going to be and I picked up my key. When I went into the room it was hot. I saw some kind of dust bunny falling from the ceiling. The bed sheets were all wrinkled. There was a cigarette burn in the sheets and they were dirty. The air condition cover was broken. The walls were dirty .The latch lock on the door to make sure no one comes in was broken which is very important because I was a female by myself staying there. The toilet seat was broken. The corner of one of the walls was broken and little pieces were coming off onto the floor. I was very busy when I was in town. I didn't stay here except to sleep in which I bought bed sheets to put over so that I was able to sleep. I will never be coming back here and when I told the clerk at the desk all the things that were going on with the room in a nice manner she just said okay. I wasn't initially going to but write a bad review because I normally don't write bad reviews but something needs to be done. Hopefully they will fix the room up. The only good thing about it was that it was in Marlin where I needed to be at that time and the stuff was kind.

My family loves to stay at executive suites because of the free breakfast, that's our main reason we stay in a hotel for the convenience of the breakfast especially being we have two kids with us and my wife is having our third, well we read breakfast was from 6-8:30 my month pregnant wife went down three flights of stairs because the elevator seemed unsafe and was making this strong vibration sound that my wife didn't like, anyways went down three flights of stairs, at 6am, just to find out for breakfast wasn't there fluffy make yourself waffles that it's known for, and wasn't there small but grand selection of breakfast items, instead they had 4 muffins, half filled dry cereal, no fresh fruits and expired milk carton, and they actually had a sign that said DO NOT TAKE FOOD TO ROOMS! She couldn't believe it, but of course she didn't complain to the next worker she found because my wife does hospitality work and knew that this wasn't going to get her the breakfast she wanted, she went out drove to McDonald's bought us breakfast and brought it up to our room on the 3rd flloor, it wasn't just the breakfast that made our stay uncomfortable, the lady at the front desk, swiped our card with out speaking to us the amount that was charged, and the beds had two flat pillows each, so my wife was tossing and turning so much because I mean come on being 8month pregnant your belly and body is very uncomfortable already. i slept on the chair because my wife was so uncomfortable trying to make those two flat pillows work for her, was just not cutting it. Not worth the $80 bucks we spent, for a late check in at that, we checked in at 11pm. Next time we will just go to Waco, this hotel should not be what it advertises and should just quit the shit and turn into apartments. They might make better money that way honestly, I'm not ever spending a...

Trying to not knock this place too much. Pros:The rooms were cleaned and the bathroom. I had the A/C at a comfortable level. That being said. Cons: No one at the front desk when I checked in, had to yell hello a few times to have anyone respond. The refrigerator did not work and smelled awful when you opened it. There was no breakfast of any sort at this hotel. The only one I have stayed that did not offer a breakfast. I would not have choose this hotel if I thought about it more.

Update 2-28-23 I am not trying to knock this place again, but seriously. I gave it a 3 star last time, this time barely 1 1/2 stars. This place got worse. I will NEVER stay here again.

  1. Phone lines did not work upon check-in.
  2. Internet incredibly slow and not meant for business video, zoom meetings, or anything. Everyone using the same unsecured line and my antivirus going crazy with this internet connection. I only got on the internet here if it was important for a brief time. Mostly to check email quickly or look for a places to go/eat. I had to choose someplace else to conduct my business over the internet.
  3. Now on my 3rd time in 3 days of off/on running water. The water has been off for several hours now. That includes toilet water. No one is answering the front desk now about the issue.

I have traveled and stayed in hotels around the world and this is by far the worst hotel to stay in. That is saying a lot (3rd world countries had better). Everyone, until they get a better hotel built in Marlin or greatly improve this hotel, do yourself a favor, stay in Waco or somewhere else. Plus the management stated I should have gone to Waco instead, you know it is bad. I have more to say, but just stay away from this place. I guess going 20 miles out of my way was better. I finally learned my lesson about this hotel!!! Really...
