The "west wing preferred king" was a huge disappointment, along with a lot of other issues with this old place. First, the room is just old and run down. Pictures speak a thousand words. There were also stains on the carpet. Our room was only cleaned twice in the four days we were there. So for 2 if our four days no one even knocked on the door. The room description online says the room had a an advanced sleep system and a wet bar, it did not have either. It had an old pillow top mattress. Since I'm disabled I was really looking forward to an advanced sleep system. They had paving going on right outside my door for most of the morning and afternoons I was there. The LOUD back up beeps started at 7:30 am the first morning I woke up.. I am physically disabled and I get around pretty good, but it was a nightmare carrying luggage up a set of steps with noone around upon arrival. I am glad I got a hold of the lodge manager on our last day. A little $$ is nice but doesn't make up for a trip next to a construction zone. Fact is, the room I stayed in should NOT have been given to anyone based on how close it was to a paving construction zone, and the fact that I paid them anything to hear their construction is an...
Read moreIn most respects, these accommodations were as nice as you might expect for a resort style lodge. A few things to be aware of.
First and foremost, remember your route to your room and back to the lobby and do but deviate from it. The layout is very labyrinth like. Some floors change depending on where you're at in the maze. For example, I was in the 3rd floor. A few feet away from my room however, this became the 4th floor. Going to the first floor brought got out a quarter mile from the lobby. The rooms do not have USB ports so bring a wall brick. The lobby staff was VERY accommodating if this however and saved me with a loaner brick. No dirty clothes bags in the b room. I recommend using the ice bucket bag. If you're there for a multi-day conference, do not leave materials in the conference room. Ours were disposed of never to be seen again. Otherwise, very friendly staff, reasonably clean, comfortable, well...
Read moreWe stayed here for a work outing and used lodging rooms and event space. It was cool to feel remote, though you weren't too far away from outside amenities. The rooms were okay, a little dated, but functional. The event space met all of our needs, and having the light show to go to in the evening was a fun addition. If you're looking for a little place to get away, I would recommend it as the scenery and the outdoor amenities during the summertime could keep you busy for a...
