Johnnie's Motel — Hotel in McConnellsburg

This is the only motel in town. Uh-oh.... When I entered Room 4 and turned on the light switch, no light came on. Fortunately, the parking lot is fairly well lit and provided enough light to find the lamp. The bed was noisy but was more comfortable than you think when you first sit on it. Bring a bottled water or paper cup if you need to take any pills because a drinking glass is not among the amenities. Although the TV in this room only got Channel Snow and the WiFi didn't reach this room, I was able to get 3G.

On the positive side, the roof didn't leak when it rained and the air-conditioner worked. The attached diner was not open while I was here but there is a 24-hour Sheetz across the street.

It's true that you pay no tax if you pay cash. They never even asked my name, address or plate number.

Just discovered no water runs in the shower in this room!

OK on the outside but bed bugs on the inside!

The owners are a separated couple who are living in different rooms of the complex. I arrived late and Police were handling a different domestic dispute outside. The woman charged $50 as a "deal" for using cash. Inside the room, everything smelled of smoke. It was so dirty I knew this might be my first encounter with bedbugs. I searched under the sideboards and sure enough, a number of dead adult bedbugs were there. But being so tired, I decided to sleep anyway. Bad idea. Within an hour I was covered in bed bugs. Biting my neck and arms. I jumped up and caught a few of them (blood all over). Took them to the owner and she gave me a refund. Then I took off all my clothes and put them in a bag and slept the...
