My family and I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my graduation ceremony at Florida Tech. We booked two joining rooms: one king bed and two queen beds two room suite (room 908 and 906 respectively). While there are things to like about this place, we noticed some issues during our stay. I'll elaborate below.

Location: Good. The hotel is located right off of SR A1A and next to the beach, with businesses and bridges crossing the Indian River being within just a couple of miles away. The pool area, lobby, and exterior corridors were also pretty nice and in good shape.

Service: Rather poor. While the staff was friendly, housekeeping failed to give us extra water bottles and coffee when asked when they came to our rooms while we were gone (they only gave us two of each), so we had to go to the front desk and get more ourselves. Also, I may have possibly left a USB SD card reader at the hotel, so we've been trying to call the housekeeping manager for the past few days to see if it by chance was retrieved and put in the lost and found. We left a good 3 or 4 voicemails to the manager, but never got a call back. We were only able to get a hold of a front desk agent. The hotel also doesn't offer free breakfast, so keep that in mind if you're planning to stay here.

Rooms: A mixed bag. Let's start with the positives. Our rooms were visually appealing and had a good modern feel to them. Our beds were very comfortable and the rooms were perfectly clean. The balconies gave us great views of the beach. I and a couple others watched the sunrise from the balcony in room 906 on the morning we left. Soundproofing was also on point, our rooms were very quiet. Now for the negatives. The doors connecting the two rooms were quite worn. The sides had quite a few dents on them, with the area where the latchlocks would bang on them being particularly noticeable. There were also no towel hooks in the sink areas. The rods for the wooden shutters in room 908 were broken, so we couldn't close the blinds on the windows by the front door. The blinds in room 906 had no rods, so you had to close them by hand. Only two or three would move together, sometimes in a weird way. Lastly, the minifridges obviously hadn't been defrosted in a while. The freezer compartment in room 906 was absolutely covered in ice, so it probably hasn't been defrosted in over a decade. Another thing I found interesting was the bathroom in room 906, which had a toilet seat you'd usually find in a public bathroom, the floor in the shower was the same for the rest of the bathroom, and there were two drains.

Overall, this is an okay place to stay. The two other hotels we've stayed at in this area were better than this. If you've already booked a room here, you'll be okay, but at the rate they're charging, you'll probably have a more pleasant experience...

The SMELL of cleaning solution in the hotel room was horrid!! It was so bad that even with the balcony door open to bring in fresh air, it still didn't let up. After one miserable night, we checked out at 8 am and will never return. I have stayed at this hotel several times, even gave it glowing reviews on trip advisor, it is no longer what it use to be. Since our last visit in 2023 the decline is very noticeable. Rooms show significant wear and tear, doors that don't completely close, paint damage, worn bottoms of doors, light showing through exterior entrance door, a 1980's microwave, peeling paint on the exterior door, strong smells, run down hallways, and dated dark bathrooms. The fact that you could see the light from outside shining into the room from the exterior door is a huge safety feature, I wonder how secure that door would be if someone was forcefully trying to enter?? Of all these things, the smell was the worse, if you have allergies or are sensitive to strong smells, this is not the hotel for you. Not sure what smell they are trying to cover up but they only way to fix it is to rip out all the carpeting and start new with LV flooring. The front desk staff was responsive to text messages requesting additional items but it took several hours and follow ups to get both towels and sofa bedding (which should have already been in the room). Pool area is small and dark (building blocks the light) but the hotel does have direct beach access. The parking fee is a complete rip off since it is an open lot with plenty of spaces. Upon early check out I was given 20% off the room rate, personally I think it should have been comped. I did ask the front desk if they had another room for me to check out to see if it smelled too, they did not and I was not hanging around all day to wait for a room to open up. I assume they clean all their rooms with the same products so doubtful there would have been any improvement. Do yourself a favor an skip this hotel until Hilton invests some serious money into renovations and brings it back to it's former state. We left and headed to the Element by Marriott on Melbourne beach, the hotel was spectacular and my new go to on...

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the beach in the backyard, but the first-floor rooms are blocked by a dune so don't get sucked into paying extra for one because you can't see the ocean. I stayed here in a first floor suite and my room was dirty, the sliding door was very hard to open and they added all kinds of things onto my bill that should not have been there. The hotel rooms are dated and have a bad smell. My towels we're gross, I was lucky I brought my own. I just felt like I needed a shower every time I had to sit on the couch or lay in the gross 1980's couch. When I tried to resolve my billing issues with the hotel they would not make it right, I called corporate and they blamed it on the local hotel, called the local hotel and they blamed it on corporate. Tried to charge it back on my credit card and then it was denied by Hilton once again. Hilton does not stand behind their service or their brand or their Customer Loyalty promises even for rewards members who unfortunately have been forced to stay in multiple Hilton's for business travel and have racked up lots of points and Status. They do not care about their customers. Avoid the Trap and stay at a Marriott instead, there is one up the road directly on the beach with actual beach views with clearner, nicer rooms and their staff is much nicer and I prefer them over Hilton 100% of time. I included a picture of me on the beach and I included a picture from the back room of my Suite on the first floor, I had to stand tall on a chair just to get a fleeting glimpse of the water on Horizon. People in the rooms above me would smoke and flick their cigarettes down and I had one almost hit my child still lit as they would have come raining down into the courtyard off the back of my room still on fire. There are cigarette butts all over the grass, very sad I had to chase chase my three-year-old around to avoid him picking...

It looks a lot nicer on the website than in person. The beds are queen and they dress it up with a padded mattress covers to diminish the coils. You can still feel it. The rooms no longer have a bible in the night stand drawer. And there’s no note pad or pen included. The housekeeping people are very nice. The view was amazing. However, it was hard to enjoy at times because guest were smoking on the balcony. Although we stayed at the north side because half of south towers were under construction you can still hear and feel vibration in the rooms. We did not use the pool but from what we saw it looked clean. The gym has a peloton bike available. If you plan on going into the beach be aware that your feet will get full of tar. They do provide dawn dish soap with some wipes for you to remove. However, there is not sign up making you aware of such. if you want to lay on the beach - there’s a fee - for lounge chairs or lay on your towel for free. The outside of the hotel is worn. The staff were very nice. However, if you decide to do an early departure be aware to pay “early departure fee”. No exceptions!!!! They supposedly have an “48 cancellation policy”. If you decide eat in the hotel or call room service be aware of the charges; room service $3.50, extra bacon is $7.00 for two strips, tip which is like $15-20! They will put a $90 hold on your card and then after check out they will deduct the parking fee $12.50 a days out if that. Staying here can be pricey so choose wisely! I say the only thing I really enjoy was the view. There is a Publix and Starbucks within 3 minutes.
