We booked this on the spot as we were driving to Ohio from California and were exhausted. It was late and we weren't familiar with the area. If I had come here during the day I would have kept going. It is in an unsavory neighborhood.
When I entered the lobby there was a horrible smell..e had already paid so i figured we would not smell it from oir room.
I asked if there were rooms on the first floor and she said yes and gave us room 113. As we walked down the hall there were some type of commercial blowers further down. We entered our room and it was disgusting as well as the horrible smell permeated the room.
There were dead bugs on the wall, worn and dirty shower with the handle broken on the shower door. Obvious patched walls throughout, sawdust of some sort behind the refrigerator, the base of the toilet had hair on it, the gold coverlet on the bed was stained and one had holes. I kept waiting to see a live roach come out and was hesitant to put anything down.
The smell was so bad I sprayed an air freshener that I carried with me. I was going to try and tough it out so took a quick shower (after cleaning it with disinfectant) and told hubby I was going to request another room.
I went to the front desk and asked the young lady for another room because the room she had given us smelled horrible as well as it was filthy. Instead of providing another room she told me i had asked for the first floor and that there had been some sort of damage on the first floor.
I told her well then why did she not tell e that when I asked for the first floor, as that was her opportunity to inform me something was wrong with the first floor Even then she still did not offer another room, but told me she would come and spray the room with air freshener. I was blown away and told her...this was her opportunity to show excellent customer service, yet she did not.
We promptly checked out of our room and left to find another hotel. In Addition to that I was charged a $1.50 fee for use of the safe. This was an undisclosed fee that I should not have been charged and after discussing this with her (Anaji) she removed the fee.
I don't know what happened to damage that hotel but whatever that smell was it clung to our luggage and other belongings. It was horrible.
I will disputing this as a refund should have been offered since she refused to change our room then went so far as to blame me for asking for the first floor. She was the only one of us with knowledge that there was something wrong on the first floor yet took our money without even telling us something was wrong.
Even if this had not occurred, judt based upon the location and the lack of care for the property and the rooms, I would not suggest staying here. I have paid less and gotten better value and...
Read moreDue to having out of town guests to accommodate and then a major plumbing issue, weâve been at this hotel on and off for weeks. It is perfect for what it is, a comfortable and affordable hotel.
Itâs right near a highway and just minutes from several different food choices and a Kroger/Walmart shopping center. There are even 24 hour fast food restaurants around the corner on Austin Peay for those on a late night schedule like me.
Weâve been in three different rooms during this time and all three had a microwave, mini fridge, plenty of storage, a comfortable office chair and desk and plenty of pillows. There is an indoor pool. The parking lot is behind a gate and has security cameras.
As we arenât morning people, we havenât eaten breakfast frequently but when weâve made it down there it consisted of hot and cold cereal, pastries and bagels, eggs and sausage and pancake options plus juice, milk and coffee. The breakfast area is kept tidy, even during the morning rush.
Speaking of not being morning people, this place is quiet enough that weâve never been woken before our alarms.
The best part of our stay has been the staff. Everyone has been polite and helpful and the manager Derrick is very friendly!
And I canât leave a review without mentioning Natasha, one of the clerks. At our second or third check-in, it was very late at night, something like two in the morning, and she was still attentive enough to notice that there had been an extremely high hold added to our check-in portfolio by the app I used to book the room. Iâm talking nearly $1000. She had taken an extra step to check the holds before running my credit card and saved me a huge hassle. She didnât do it alone, the action required a manager and despite the fact it was the middle of the night, she got Derrick on the phone and they worked together to fix the issue before it even became a problem for me. And my late schedule has also had me catch her twice going beyond the call of duty by stepping outside to check on a parking door-gate that had been left open and a person who she viewed through the camera as being suspiciously close to said gate. I really appreciated that she is so attentive.
Basically, this is a comfortable and affordable hotel in a convenient area and the staff and amenities make it...
Read moreWhen we walked into this hotel, I immediately knew I had made a huge mistake. The first question I asked, "Is the pool open?" The worker said, "No, it's under maintenance." We went into the room and it wasn't appealing at all!! It looked unkempt and had an odor. I felt if the owners didn't put much effort into updates and cleanliness, they wouldn't place too much stock into clean sheets and the proper handling and serving of foods. Hence, we decided not to eat the continental breakfast and removed all bed covers (including the stained mattress covers) to wash for the next few nights. We brought the bedding down and requested instructions to use the laundry room. This room was also under maintenance, so we only had three options: to put the bedding back on the mattresses, go to the nearest laundromat, or ask for two clean sets. The representative gave us the sets, but said they had no more comforters; so we used the flat sheet to cover up. We also asked for more toilet tissue because the roll was almost gone. Mind you, we had just arrived, hence, we hadn't touched the tissue. The representative searched in other rooms and presented two used rolls. đ|Our room had no iron, so the representative searched another room and brought an iron. The next morning around 8:40 AM, we were headed out and was making coffee. We noticed the chairs were flipped upside down and stored on the tables & no breakfast (except cereal and milk) was avaliable...breakfast closed at 9:00 AM. Someone from the desk came over and offered two packets of microwavable mini sausage and biscuits. Wow!! I continued to shake my head and ask myself what have I gotten us into???? Our last night was horrible. The neighbors were loud. They argued, screamed, and fought all night and all morning. They were running down the hallway and slamming doors!|NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I've come to the conclusion that hotels are not as they...
