10/10 highly recommend. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!
I stayed one night to be close for a business appt the next day. It was super convenient. The room and hotel in general was very clean and spotless! I was lucky enough to stay when they had complimentary continental breakfast (that ends on April 5th). The room was a great size and spacious for 3 ppl. I asked for extra towels when I booked and they accommodated.
Upon entering the room, there was a quiet and serene spa light meditation music going which was so relaxing (I guess they turn the TV on for u so it's set like that when u walk in).
The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and informative.
There weren't many people at breakfast and no one was in the lobby pretty much all the times I went down there during different hours (except the cpl ppl at breakfast).
There is a mini fridge and a single cup coffee maker in the standard room (cannot use kcups). There is no microwave in the room but there is a common microwave that's available to use in "The Market" in the lobby. The little market in the lobby also has quick food items and snacks u can purchase.
The very minor things I would change/suggest are: The coffee maker should be kcup compatible since most ppl have those and can bring their own if they choose and possibly a little bigger so we can use bigger cups.
There should be larger waste baskets in the room, the ones provided are super tiny. Esp since there is a fridge in the room and people will be eating and discarding take out waste, etc.
The placement of the soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles is on the wall behind the shower head. But there was plenty of room in the back of the tub for it to be placed. Rather than having to reach through or around the water to get to it (I was trying not to get my hair wet).
Other than that, the bathroom was a good size and the shower tub was large AND had a seating area where u can put ur feet up to shave or sit, or put ur hygiene items u brought from home (important detail for us ladies!)
The room was updated and very clean (I always bring bed/fabric spray for any hotel rooms I go to tho, but this one was very clean). Beds were SUPER comfy!!
They accommodated my late check out request as well, which was nice. I love how the normal check out time is noon as opposed to other hotels which are earlier. Great feature for those who like to sleep in,...
Read moreI was referred to Courtyard Marriott Dunn Loring by another hotel in the Mosaic District when they were sold out for an unexpected return stay that I needed. I was disappointed that I couldn't stay at the other hotel again, but took their recommendation to go up the street thinking "it must be a good place to stay if they are recommending a competitor." I was blown away by the comfort and service I received at Courtyard Marriott Dunn Loring and here's why: 1) Location - the hotel sat between my training location and the fun of the Mosaic District; I drove no more than 3-5 minutes for all of my needs, including a walk to the grocery store across the street. 2) Room - the room was incredibly spacious and decorated in such a way that was modern YET homey, comfortable and like I was in someone's guest suite. The balcony was an unexpected extra and I squealed upon its discovery. Allowing fresh air in my room by opening the balcony doors was fantastic. 3) The Bistro - quick, easy and high quality breakfasts and dinners were so helpful. I was elated to find that the Bistro served the plain Greek yogurt and honey that I eat every morning at home. 4) Parking - as a solo female traveler, I appreciated the affordable ($5/day!) gated garage parking that was easily accessible from the elevator. It felt very safe and seamless leaving and returning especially at night and retrieving things from my car. 5) Staff - the operations manager and the front desk staff were superb. With a four night stay away from my family ahead of me, the OM made me feel very much at home when she served the chicken pot pie at the Bistro on the first evening, and on the following days the front desk staff continued that feeling with offering incredible attention and service. Thank you, very much, for a wonderful stay! This is my forever hotel...
Read moreBedbugs and customer service have us worried about our stay.
It was about 30 to 40 minutes since we had entered our room, before my younger brother noticed a bug crawling up the sheets. Startled, my family began flipping bedcovers into the bathtub to find seven more. They look like small black beads, and were large enough to see without good eyesight.
To say the least, we called customer service immediately. A staff member arrived to give us the key to a room 4 stories up, while doing his best to apologize. I'm satisfied by how they gave us a room far away, but there’s the risk of us bringing them as well. Instead of keeping things properly checked, they let us decide on how to deal with checking our stuff. Fine for us, but you can't trust just anyone.
A search on Google revealed the signs that we didn't know were red flags. Blood stains slightly showed on sheets. Black fecal spots laid stained on the blankets; something that we mistook for bedbugs themselves when changing the shells. If you lift the mattress, you're likely to see several egg sheets which look like sea shells. Take a hard look before you settle.
If anyone stayed at this hotel on the week of August 16th, I'd strongly recommend checking your clothes and belongings when or before you return home.
Edit: After asking for compensation in the morning, they had a suspicious procedure. It went along the lines of, "We need our company to check it first." Of course, if it's their team they can always take down our claim. I could easily picture them saying that they could not find any problems, even if the bugs were taken care of. Not only that, but it would take an unknown amount of time for them to get back to us. It was easier for us to call our credit card company to cancel...
